Helix v3 - Innovation Begins Here

It begins with curiosity and an open mind, it begins with people with a talent for both observation and creative problem-solving. JoomShaper team listened to what people wanted, and we watched as independent Joomla! developers use our template framework in their projects. We spend many hours on talking how we can improve Helix.  And now we can show preview of upcoming version.

Those changes in result will improve your productivity and creativity when you will decide to use our Helix III template framework in your next project. Of course we also redesigned whole design concept (front-end & back-end side). Righ now it become more modern, we use Flat User Interface Design. Flat design is a minimalistic design approach that emphasizes usability. It features clean, open space, crisp edges, bright colours and two-dimensional/flat graphic elements.

Contrasting & solid colours make images and buttons pop from backgrounds, easily grab attention, and guide the user's eye. The purpose of minimalistic imagery also contributes to flat design's functional character. Simple images convey messages more quickly than detailed photos. Images like icons can indicate universal actions or purposes so that everyone can easily understand them.

We included package of latest version of Font Awesome 4.2. It means we gives you scalable vector icons (over 470+) that can instantly be customized — size, color, drop shadow, and anything that can be done with the power of CSS. Compatible with screen readers, vectors, icons scale to any size.

No Coding Knowledge Required

You never touch the source code or shortcodes before and now it's better you don't have to know what it is or how it works. We removed ShortCodes, in their place we suggest to use SP Page Builder (Free or Pro version). When building a website, there is no need to start from scratch as there this amazing extension. This backend builder lets you build pages using add-ons as building blocks you can drag-and-drop into a responsive layout. Also using built-in templates cuts the cost and time down, and it allows you to get your products out there quickly. Our suggestion about how you should work in near future: Use SP Page Builder for almost all pages  and K2 items or default articles reserve only for blog section. Once you've successfully done this, your users (clients with access to admin panel) will appreciate the functional nature of CMS. It's the developer company's job to figure out the best, most cost-effective solution for content & design manage.

New Coming Soon page

offline-helix

It means that you don't need to install any additional component or  buy a Coming Soon html theme to show such a temporary page.

Override theme for K2

blog-k2

You can use K2 component for blog section, because we prepared a design override.

Note: In this new version, you will find all those new features and much more. Stable version will be published in current month, of course.

Great news! I am curious about Bootstrap versions and template options. Do you supply an option for BS v2 and v3. Since J! core and many extensions rely on or load JUI/v2 stuff, I have my concerns to add a template-framework which might add hundreds of extra-kilobytes for BS3 and FontAwesome. Not to mention any possible incompatibilities. Are there any template parameters to take care of this?

We have plan to release with BS4 if released ( BS4 ) within few days. Also, there will not be any option to switch to BS2 but we will keep the BS2 grid system intact.

Mixed feelings about it: Wouldn't it result in too much overhead? Imagine the following (typical) scenario: Joomla comes with BS v2, most likely it is loaded by the core or at least by a 3rd party extension. PageBuilder comes with BS v3, Helix3 adds BS v4. Often other extensions come with their OWN BS files in their folders... OMG!?!

Well, we will keep BS2 grid system intact so all other extensions thats rely on BS2 will not break. Page Builder is not completely based on BS3. We used grid system and some other components so its not a matter.

From your lips to God's ears! But even if all the different CSS/grids would work together, you can't argue away the obvious data redundancy. Not sure I would bet on such a "crazy quilt" for a serious client project. Time will tell.

hi dear joomshaper.why you not use sass instead less?

Because LESS is mostly used in Joomla. Also, joomla comes with native less support.
