Where To Put Home Page Welcome

Another beginners question I am sure.

The following is my home page. The red squares are where I want to use modules. When trying it I realised I didn’t design the page very well. I used a single page and put the welcome image and text in SP PB Pro row.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1m0eqK4fAycGxAsyB1N7eDc4WdsmSaUY2/view?usp=sharing

The area circled in yellow contains is the problem area becuase it is a row in the main page so when if I add modules they get placed Next To not Underneath that section/background.

See the next image which is the Positions View https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gH0W5QpFU0l51XBCk8PgqCI4agT4JODm/view?usp=sharing

So, my assumption is I need to place that background image and text in another position which is Above Left and Right. So my question is which position do I use as I need:

    • The background image to stretch across the width of the whole page
  • I would like the Welcome text and information text , to share the same left|right borders as the main body text… as they do now

Is that possible and if so what would be the best approach? Thank you for your patience

Hi there!

Thanks for your query.

I guess the concept is not clear to me fully, sorry about that. But I'm trying.

If you want to create a standard landing page then you may check the concepts below:

https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/how-to-create-a-landing-page-with-sp-page-builder

https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/introducing-landing-page-layout-bundle-in-sp-page-builder-pro

https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates/startuplanding

However, if you want to see modules on left and right side as you have marked red box in your first screenshot, then you can simple create a module and select 'left'/'right' accordingly as the module position.

Hope this helps anyways!

Best Regards

Thnk you for the link I will have a look at them. And no apologies needed, it is obviously my inexperience and lack of good comminication skills which make it a challenge for other to uderstand what I mean

Here is screenshot of when I add a left module

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1rEgvTgTJQWEzGkXvaFG6Nphnc8hFdmVu/view?usp=sharing

As you can see it is pushing the row with the background and text to the right, which I don't want. I want the left module to be below the backgound and text Row.

What I need to happen, tried to do with arrows, is background should stretch across whole window and the module should be moved down next to the main component section.

So what I am thinking I need to do is move that out of the 'Component' position, it is currently a row in home page. Move it to something Above that... like "Header" postion or something? That is my question, how would I do that, I didn't see Header as a module postionand I don;t want to screw up my menu .

I want to use Left/Righ Modules as opposed to add more columns to the 'component' position so I can more easily manage then, turn the on/off for different pages etc..

If this doesn't make sense no worries, I'll just stop bothering you guys and just come up with simpler layouts that don't include modules

Hi.. I think I have it figured... I was looking for Header position when I think I needed Title.

One question I do have, is the white 'area' surrounding the Left and Right positions expected? I have 0px margins and padding everywhere... which actually includes the Row Header for the Component postion too so not sure where that spacing is comming from but not important just now

thanks but I did work out it was comming from #sp-module-left (I think). If Ido use the Left/Right positions I'll figure out something to add to the custom.css Cheers for your help
