Edit Functions Disappear

Hello all

Sometimes, all the functions for editing a page disappears. see printscreens. Cache deleted, reloadet but still, i can not edit a page, because all the edit tools are not there. happens in safari as well as with firefox. i am using mac, all software updatet. do you have a solution for this?

Hi, please upload somewhere screenshot of "issue" and share URL to it.

Please always check from two different browsers to be sure it's not a browser or browser plugin issue.

It can be caused by few things, for example:

  1. old, not updated JCE editor version.
  2. If TinyMCE or JCE is not set as default editor
  3. If one of addons is damaged, old code loaded from template
  4. Extension conflict

Hi Paul

Everything is up-to-date. Its a new Installation of a Joomshaper Template Website. This happend not for the first time.

  1. i have TinyMCE
  2. No Addons except SP Page Builder
  3. Newest Version of Template (Quick Start) from Joomshaper
  4. No other Extensions installed

I can confirm I am also getting this issue.

I'm using the Decora template. and when I go to edit an item in page builder (within article manager - not within pagebuilder) I try to edit the addon and all rows, columns and addons disappear.

Possible solution

What I have found works is changing my editor to JCE editor in both the user level and also in Global Config - this seems to alleviate the issue.

I'm guessing it's a conflict with editors that use elements of tinyMCE as the the console error when this happens is

You used JCE Core or Pro ?

Yes, I use JCE all the time. Sometimes I forgot that basic TinyMCE exist.

@Paul, sure sry. For the current Project i am using the Fortune Template. But as I already mentioned, this happens not with this templae only.

@Peter: Sorry to hear that, but i am a bit happy i am not the only one :-)

"None" nor "CodeMirror" shouldn't be used inside SPPB mode.

Only TinyMCE or JCE editor (!)

I'm currently using JCE Pro 2.9.2.

I'm with you Paul - I don't always use TinyMCE - but when I do, I swear and change it to JCE!!!

@catrophy - try changing your editor - it seems this is a conflict with SP PageBuilder - not template specific.

Thanks Catrophy, It looks that page "Über uns" is someshow damaged/corrupted. But all other page "Über uns1" was OK also a new test one.

I couldn't check all becuase your built-in firewall/security software from hosting locked me each time. So I can also predict it may a reason of issues in Joomla. You can disable it and make some more tests. It can be it.
