After upgrading to latest 4x release I am not able to use the frontend editor...if I disable the URL rewriting on Joomla back end...there is anyworkaround to fix this issue?

Please share a screencast of your issue to understand it better. Take the screencast and share via any drive like Google Drive, One Drive, iCloud, Box etc. We will check the issue.
