Hello,

I have a question regarding dynamic fields in SPPB Builder for creating a blog, particularly with Joomla's custom fields. If I set up a blog using SPPB Builder and custom fields, how can a user add a new blog article from the front end without going through the back end?

Thank you.

Hello,

Thank you for the clarification.

I understand your point now, you are referring specifically to creating SP Page Builder pages from the frontend, not standard Joomla articles.

At the moment, SP Page Builder does support frontend editing of existing content, but creating entirely new SP Page Builder pages directly from the frontend is currently not available. New pages still need to be created from the backend first.

I understand your concern regarding the workflow, especially since SP Page Builder is designed as a visual page-building solution. Your suggestion about allowing users to create SP Page Builder pages directly from the frontend — similar to Joomla article creation — certainly makes sense from a usability perspective.

However, as of now, we do not have any official confirmation regarding implementation of such a feature in upcoming releases.

That said, I will forward your feedback and feature request to the development team for consideration, as this could indeed improve frontend workflow significantly for many users.

Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and use case.

Best regards,

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. Indeed, I was referring to the creation of SP Page Builder pages from the front-end, not Joomla articles. For Joomla articles, I am aware that it is possible to create them from the front-end — no issue there.

However, I don't understand the point of being able to create a dynamic blog with SP Page Builder if users cannot add SP Page Builder pages from the front-end. This is a tool designed for visual page creation with front-end access, yet it forces you to go through the back-end. In that case, what is the actual value?

Are you planning to change this to allow SP Page Builder pages to be added from the front-end, as is the case with Joomla articles — which would make perfect sense?

Thank you.

Hi there!

Thank you for reaching out.

Although I’m not completely sure if I understood your query correctly, it seems that you would like to know whether users can create new articles from the frontend.

I checked this, and frontend article creation is possible using the default Joomla editor. However, SP Page Builder editor is not supported for frontend article creation in this case.

Also, the user must be assigned to at least the Editor user group to have permission to create articles from the frontend.

Best regards,
