Accessibility (a11y) : how does the Helix3 framework/template score in that respect ?

Featured Lock Resolved Task
Hi,
More and more website owners do ask for website which respect the norms of a11y (accessibility).
Not only institutional websites, but also regular ones.

How does the Helix3 framework/template score in that respect ?

Is there any documentation about what is put in place to make it accessible.

Txs for your clarifications/help :-)

Marc

[edit : little practical example : when you have submenus, you should be able to open those with the keyboard, which is not the case presently ]

Hi,
We have in plans to improve Helix3 to pass WCAG 2.0 AA test. I added to our DO TO LIST some time ago.
Right now all I can suggest is wait.
Thanks for your voice in that topic.

Hi Pawel,
Txs for the quick reaction.
I'll wait then :-)
But just like the "Helix Blog Options" from the front-end is a nice improvement, a11y would be an additional competitive advantage of Helix compared to others ;-)

Marc

Thanks,
I fully understand that Accessibility is very important these days, especially for Government sites, we have this same strict law in EU.

Hi Paul,
Here is some interesting reading about Accessibility becoming the norm for all public websites in the EU :

Hi there !
Any news about accessibility and Helix ?
In particular :
- is Helix3 now accessible ?
- and even better : is Helix Ultime accessible ?

Txs ?

Stable version of Helix Ultimate will be much more accessibility friendly , than Helix3 was.
Future versions will improve this area even much more.
Yes, we remember about the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and law rules.

Txs Paul.
Just like J!4, Helix Ultimate should respect WCGA AA :
https://www.joomla.org/accessibility-statement.html
That way, the same norm would be applied.
