Add module position outside of normal template

Featured Lock Resolved
Hi,
Using helix based Simplicity II template I'm wondering how to create a new position that is placed outside of template to use this space for Ads etc..
Cannot see how to set coordinates for such a position.

Thanks for your help

Please, see the doc: http://helix.joomshaper.com/documentation/advanced/131-creating-module-positions

Yes, I know, I've read it, but I lack the knowledge to place it outside te normal template. Probably over CSS ?, but in which file.

Thanks
René

Hi,
Partly solved:
added position in index.php:
<!--Module Position right-outside-->
<?php if($helix->countModules('right-outside')) { /*--- Right outside module ---*/?>
<div id="right-outside" class="sp-outer-right clearfix">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="right-outside" />
</div>
<?php } ?>

added position in templatedetails.xml

added in css/template.css:
.sp-outer-right{position: relative;top:0px;left:960px;width:200px; padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px}

I have now the position and can add a module, but the main template is filled with empty space with the same length as the module right-outside has (as the module position is just after the slides position). How can I avoid this?

Thanks for any help

See the module position: http://demo.joomshaper.com/joomla25/simplicity_ii/index.php/explore/features/module-positions

It takes the full width. Can you please, provide the screen shots.

Hi,

:) Solved it now like this:

added a supplementary div element in index.php which holds the outer divs:
<div id="sp-outerpos" class="sp-outer-div clearfix">
<!--Module Position right-outside-->
<?php if($helix->countModules('right-outside')) { /*--- Right outside module ---*/?>
<div id="right-outside" class="sp-outer-right">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="right-outside" />
</div>
<?php } ?>
                <!--Module Position left-outside-->
<?php if($helix->countModules('left-outside')) { /*--- left outside module ---*/?>
<div id="left-outside" class="sp-outer-left">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="left-outside" />
</div>
<?php } ?>
</div>

added positions in templatedetails.xml:
    <position>right-outside</position>
<position>left-outside</position>

added in css/template.css:
.sp-outer-div{position:relative}
.sp-outer-right{position:absolute;top:0px;left:965px;width:200px; padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;z-index:-1}
.sp-outer-left{position: absolute;top:0px;left:-200px;width:200px; padding-left:10px;padding-right:10px;z-index:-1}

left positioning depends on template width, z-index is obsolete

used on my website http://www.rcmarket.net

Regards and happy new year

You can delete z-index to appear the gallery. You have to do lot of work for mobile version or you can disable mobile version. Good work.
