Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Next question!

The article slider add-on seems to be doing two weird things.

First, it isn't respecting the "Created by alias" and is showing the author as "Super User" which I can change, but it seems like that would not be expected behavior.

Second, even though I think I have thumbnails selected, it is not showing the graphics I put in for each. They are stored in the blog option featured image tab on the back end. I think I have set it up the same way as the demo Wayne Corp blog items, but no graphics.

Example:

http://staging1.roi-ally.com/index.php/en/

at the very bottom.

Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for your queries.
1) That created by field is from the created by option in articles not from the created by alias. That's why it's not showing the alias.

2) I found it's showing the images fine here. Would you please recheck if your have used those images from blog options? And you can also try this using php 7.1 Since it's working fine for me.

Please check this screencast https://files.fm/u/53kf9a2t

Hi Sifat, thanks for your answers!

Hi,

I figured. Could I put in a feature request to allow the alias to be shown rather than the Created By? I'll often add articles when I am logged in as Super User but that are really by me. So rather than log out and in again, I just put in the alias.

2) I found it's showing the images fine here. Would you please recheck if your have used those images from blog options? And you can also try this using php 7.1 Since it's working fine for me.

Thanks for the video!

I downgraded php to 7.1 and still see the same thing. I believe I am following the same steps. On the front-end I have selected "Hide Thumbnail" to no.I have added the graphic on the Blog Options Featured Image. These images show up in the blog category page here:

http://staging1.roi-ally.com/index.php/en/six-sigma-heretic

but they don't show up here:

http://staging1.roi-ally.com/index.php/en/#articleslider

Now Toufiq helped me on a related issue - getting the feature image to show up full width on the category blog page - could that have affected or created this issue?

1) Ok don't worry i'm adding this to our feature requests list and our developers will take care of that.

2) Please make sure you are using latest version of the template(v_1.1) and then PM me your super user access. I need to check.

click on my avatar to get that option

-Thanks

Hi Sifat - thanks for taking a look!

Sending you access - it was a Super User I made for Toufiq for another question...

Hi,
Please goto this file location templates/shaper_wayne_corp/sppagebuilder/addons/articles_slider/site.php
Then just replace the attached file there and that will solve the issue.

-Thanks

Thanks!

OK that does get graphics showing, but they are REALLY low-resolution. I cleared cache and refreshed, and they are really chunky.

That is perfect Sifat!

With an eye to maintaining the site - will this be something that gets overwritten/obsoleted with future updates?

Thanks!

Yes the template update will erase the custom code.
That's why we always suggest to have a backup before doing any kind of update related work.

That makes sense. Is this something that would make it into an update sometime? I'd imagine more people than me would like these options.

Thanks again for the help!

I'll talk to the developers if they find that helpful they'll sure implement this in future.
