Can no longer edit Page Builder Modules unless on front end?

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi, I notice after a recent update I can no longer edit Page Builder Modules in Joomla Back End, there is now a button "Edit with SP Page Builder" which takes you to the front end editor, why is this? There are some things I can't do with the front end editor, also I've noticed that if you duplicate a module then try to edit it the front end editor doesn't work at all. Can we fix this?

Thanks Phil

Hi,
Thanks for your query. Yes the duplicate issue is already in our todo list. Soon we'll fix this.
And about the new feature modules frontend edit, the previous option had some limitations to store large data set and that's why we had to provide it a separate view. Would you please share what are the limitations you are facing in this edit mode?

Thanks for your reply, when using the front end editor the window size is changed due to the controls pop out which isn't great from a designer perspective, I use a dual monitor setup (as I assume most people do) where I have one monitor set to whatever screen resolution I'm catering for and the back end editor on the other monitor. This isn't possible now, also I use akeeba admin tools which does not allow front end editing due to security so this now needs to be disabled on any site I'm working on with sp page builder, which isn't ideal.

Also when editing a module, you get the sp page builder module front end editor displaying only the module full screen (not the page) so you don't see how it works when within a module position in the template, you still need to have yet another window open with the full site on to see what you're doing.

Hi guys,
Thanks for your participations. I just talked with the team and very soon we'll fix the duplicate addon edit issue.
The frontend edit module issue: We actually got too many requests to bring back the backend editor. But some users wanted to use huge data in their module and as joomla has some limitations of data usage in module that's why we've created a separate database to store those module data and that forces us to use the frontend editor.
Since too many users are comfortable with backend editing that's why we're in a fix and couldn't make a decision.
But we always prioritize our users and we'll try to bring back the backend editor as soon as possible.

-Best Regards

Hi Joomshaper Team,

we really have a big issue with our company website now as the backend editor for sp pagebuilder modules has removed. We stepped back to Version 3.4.7.

When trying to edit existing modules with 3.4.10, all content of the module is destroyed!!! :( :( :(

Please bring a fix for this as soon as possible and give us back the backend editor for modules.

Thanks in advance
Thomas

Hi team,

I must say that I hate the fact to have to edit a module by the front end for all those reasons given on the forum but I add a security point of view.

In my situation, I use AdminTools and I keep priviledges to minimum to all users, backend access is secured by IP restriction and other means, and I think that if you were concerned by security, you should consider that point.

In my opinion, Backend stuff should never be accessed by front-end if the admin doesn't want it.

I see this like a good try that could help some users, but you should at least create a way to disable editing by front if desired.

In my case this move is the worst you did since the beginning and I see it as a nightmare.

Joomla != Wix

Thanks to pay attention to my request.
