Compression destroys icons in the frontend

Featured Lock Resolved Bug
I found out that if you turn on the compression for CSS and Javascript files under Template Options and then save, the icons for editing are no longer displayed.
If you deactivate the compression again, the icons remain defective and are still not displayed.
That seems to be a bug in SPPB. How can the problem be solved?

Hi,
1) Test with which compression design is still OK, CSS or JS.
2) You can also use plugin JCH_Optimizer instead of template settings.

That's all I can help today.

I downloaded the JCH_OptimizerJCH_Optimizer.
Plugin installed and activated.
With a website that helped, the icons are back.
Unfortunately, that did not help with another one.

Thanks for your help. Let's wait and see that it is not so stressful in support and the others are back. Then there is definitely a solution for it.

Hello Paul,

i took the same defaults of JCH_Optimizer (free version) on both websites as were given.
With one it works that the icons are to be seen again, with the other not.

To get back to your question "Test with which compression design is still OK, CSS or JS.":
Since the icons are broken, I can not understand exactly. When I turn on "Compress CSS Files" in SPPB and "Compress Javascript Files" off, I get halfway something displayed (see picture Icons-2). If both are switched on or off, then I see no icons.

Again as a note: Before I turned on the two compressions for the first time, all icons were displayed correctly. Once compressed, the process (the error) can not be undone. The icons are no longer displayed.

Unfortunately, our team can not really work like that anymore.:(

The best way would be to disable JCH compression during edition,
but you have to talk with JCH_Optimizer support how to do that.

We have limited support till tomorrow, I cannot help more.

Hello Paul,
i have solved my problem now!

I could not save anything anymore. No more pages to edit and no pages edit in the front end. Nothing was displayed!
The websites themselves were displayed correctly.
When saving, the memory character always ran endlessly and the page had to be aborted. Even saving in the template options did not work.

My solution was in the htaccess file.
There was security reasons
<IfModule mod_headers.c>
Header set X-frame options DENI
</ IfModule>

entered. A simple change from DENI to SAMEORIGIN

<IfModule mod_headers.c>
Header set X-Frame-Options SAMEORIGIN
</ IfModule>

had fixed the problem.

Maybe that helps a bit further or stimulates one or the other to a solution.
Greetings from Germany
Chris

Thanks Chris,
But I have to inform and calm down Joomla webmaster that this part of the code was added by you,
in default htaccess file there no such a lines.

Yes, I know - all right!
It came through the program SecurityCheck: https://securitycheck.protegetuordenador.com/

This changes the htaccess when using the "htaccess protection" option. Then the htaccess is regenerated. If you set in the program under "HTTP Header Protection" -> "X-Frame Option" DENI, you can see no more pages if you want to edit in Forntend and we also nothing more stored.
The change from DENI to SAMEORIGIN solves the problem.
So everything is fine and no one has to worry! :D

If you have SecurityCheck Pro please inform its developer, maybe he can add an extra option in case of problems. Thanks.
