Custom.css has stopped working on my site

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi

I recently updated my website (https://fluxx.uk.com/) to latest Joomla (v3.8.2) and SP Page Builder (v3.0.2),

Now any changes I make to my /templates/shaper_helix3/css/custom.css are not being reflected in the front end of my site.

Have tried clearing cache on browser and Joomla backend and nothing I do seems to apply changes I make to the custom.css file to front end website.

Please help me to resolve.

Thanks
Peter

Are you 100% sure that this path is correct?
/templates/shaper_helixultimate/custom.css

Maybe should be
/templates/shaper_helixultimate/css/custom.css - hmm?

sorry, but we cannot teach web mastering basics here.

Hi,
the latest version of SPPB Pro is 3.0.3, correct or update
----
Your templates/shaper_helix3/css/custom.css :
1) Is loaded correct by browser
but
2) seems to be compressed (by you), maybe during compression something was broken in code.

For sure Joomla update couldn't damage anything.
But If you had before SPPB 2, maybe class name was changed.

Hi Paul

I am currently running SP Page Builder v3.0.2 and have not intentionally compressed anything and am confident the class name has not changed.

Should I upgrade to SP Page Builder v3.0.3 to see if this fixes the problem? Or is the some other setting to change to stop the compression?

Thanks
Peter

Peter, think, yes, each SPPB update is better. Changelog.

About custom CSS hard to say.
Can you give me example what should be changed & how and is not.

Hi Paul

I upgraded to SP Page Builder v3.0.3 and the issue still exists.

Attached are the following screen shots to illustrate an example....

CSS Issue 001.jpg
Shows a screen shot of my custom.css file where I have changed color of class from #56b5d0 to yellow.

CSS Issue 002.jpg
Screen shot of my website and developer tools showing that original color still being taken from custom.css

What looks to be different to me now is all custom CSS when viewed in Developer Tools on chrome show as custom.css:1 when before I think they actually showed the correct row number in my custom.css file e.g. custom.css:123

Please can you advise on what I try next to resolve this issue?

Thanks
Peter

I see
.fluxx-blue{color:#56b5d0}

not yellow

So maybe problem is inside browser cache or Joomla cache, not in custom.css itself.

Paul - I have now uploaded custom.css version where it says yellow but front end still now showing blue. Tested in Chrome, Edge and Firefox browsers on my machine and all showing still as blue colour.

Me, How? I do not have access to your site.

I didn't know whether you had made any config changes.

Well, something I have changed looks to now have made custom.css show properly. Let me investigate further to see if something has somehow resolved itself

It sounds stupid.... but copy whole CSS code from custom.css here (screenshot )

Maybe somehow your custom.css is recovered from back-up automatically. I have no idea why.
I use Helix since v1 and never had similar case.

X-File case?

what template you have there?

Dentro
Then in Helix Ultimate settings in Custom Code - "Before < / head>" field add below code:

<link href="/templates/your-template/custom-file.css" rel="stylesheet" />

X-File case?

what template you have there?

Dentro

I hope you know that you have to rename

"your-template" into real template name, for example, shaper_helixultimate
Hello Paul,
I too am experiencing this issue with Helix Ultimate. My custom.css refuses to load.

I followed the suggestion above of linking this through the "before head" section within the template. I can see the following in my source code as a result;
<link href="/templates/shaper_helixultimate/custom.css" rel="stylesheet" />

However, when I attempt to access this link, I get a 404?
The file is there. I tried a different name, custom-file.css as above, same issue.

Stepping on any other link to CSS files, the URL displays the correct CSS file.

Any idea of what might be happening here?

I have been clearing my site and browser caches with no change.

;)
you're welcome
:D
it is true that it was my mistake, but I faithfully reported the tutorial (without /css/ )
https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/helix-framework/helixultimate#faq-how-to-do

You have to correct! :p

It's correct if your file would be there. But it wasn't, right.
