Featured Lock Resolved Task
Hi,

Is there a way or a documentation to understand the dependencies (architecture) when using ´joomla, helix3, sp page builder and kidzy (or another template)?

I am an experienced user with joomla. And had also experience with templates before.

But I got lost, when I try to make changes in helix3, they don´t work. I want to understand how the dependencies are. There should be a top-guide or something similar. Is there any, may be I didn´t find. If not what do you think should I do, just read the docs, but still be lost? :)

Hi,
but what elements you don't understand ? Maybe this short explanation will help you.

Helix3 is template framework for all modern templates in JoomShaper. There is Layout Manager which can be used to create and move module positions only.

Kidzy - is a template, which is based on Helix3 framework, but includes also customized styles and addons created for this template only.

SP Page Builder 2.x is a component , so it works inside template , in component area only. But it includes also SP PB module, which can be used on any module position.

Hi Paul,

thanks for your answer, but I know these points, except of the last where you say SP Page... is a component. This will help me to grasp.

But I have a problem to understand (keep in mind I have all that mentioned above -helix3, kidzy, sp page...-):

Where do I need to change modules (in which folders).

Are also the folders different for css overrides? since I use a template.

Or can I follow the docs at helix3 framework?

When I try to make changes in my template style, helix framework options are opened, so far so good, but the most chnges I do does not appear, so this is a point where I become really confused. Is it because I have a template (kidzy) over the framework and this changes can´t appear, may be I need to do them whereelse.

I´ll give you three examples:

Basic settings on helix3

2. footer - copyright show, position footer1 copyright notice blabla

ok I don´t understand why there is pre-set position footer1, whcih shoudn´t exist, since I had deleted all other templates. OK I change position to bootom1, I see my text but shouldn´t this change the existing copyright, instead my text is shown after the template-included copyright and in a totally different style, why, where can I read, get more information.

In documentation you advise to do installation with quickinstaller, but elsewhere I saw an advice to install regular way without any contents for productive use on server (for go-live), so what?

ah too much questions, please give me a step-by-step guide (keep in mind I am familiar with joomla, but never worked before with template frameworks) to understand the dependencies. so ideally read first about helix than about kidzy here and than about sp page builder here, and at least to understand how they are playing together here.

Thanks so much.

Joomla keeps them in database, sorry I cannot help in that.

About that please read : https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/you-ve-installed-quickstart-so-what-s-next
QuickStart is good for those who don't want to start with empty site.

Helix3 template - is different product than Kidzy Template, if you have both installed.

Helix3 framework is like (engine) plugin for templates, also Kidzy.
