Error decoding JSON data: Control character error, possibly incorrectly encoded

Featured Lock Resolved Bug
OK, I see this error for years already, so i'm just tired of this.

First of all this bug is quite irregular, so I don't know exact way to recreate it (but there are A LOT of mentions of the bug here on forum).

Secondly, there are specific circumstances when it happens:
1 - it must be module, made with Page Builder
2 - there must be quite much of entities in that module, let's say, a 3-4 rows with 3-4 columns in each

then just continue editing this module and at some point of time it breaks - you get the error, you're unable to open this module to fix it, and it also breaks the rendering of frontend.

So, as precaution I'm now ALWAYS HAVE to export content of module before editing it.

FOR YEARS already.

Guys, would you mind to fix it?
