[Feature Request] Ability to Update or Edit Saved Section and/or Addon

Featured Lock Resolved
Hello!

FYI, YooTheme Pro just released a new update and features with their page builder and maybe you guys could add the same feature as well. Like the ability to update or edit a saved section/layout, SVG support. But overall I think you guys are still ahead feature wise.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi,
SVG support is planned.

About 1st feature, right now you can only Save updated version. But sure I can ask.
Hi Paul,

Yes, I noticed that each time I modify a Section and Save, it will simply create a new entry even with the same name. That causes confusion even for I who created it, not even a date info or a user who modified it. Can you also ask your developers to add an ability to filter saved layouts by user, date created, date edited, and would be nice which page it is being used.

Can you also throw a question from your developers if a saved section or addon can be shared with other users? If not, that should be added, else there will be multiple copies of the same or variants in the database. Preferably, maybe share with Group.

Thanks,

Jackson

Save feature was originally development for "single" editor/administrator who remember what he has done.
But indeed some extra info next to name can be very useful, in particular when there are more people with editor/administrator aspirations

Maybe something like this

p.s.
About SVG, temporary you can use RAW HTML addon to put there SVG code. It work, I tested.
Hi Paul,

Your mockup above is a start, at least there's some data to know what it is.

I strongly suggest to your developers to think of multiuser environment, Joomla provided that functionality into the core, I guess 3rd party components has to incorporate that also. I'm not talking about just the ACL, rather, functionalities that thinks of multi-user environment. One example is my feature request, to have the ability to share saved resources to other users.

Well, you guys are not alone :D most of the component developers I dealt with thinks that a website has and should only have one Admin and its the Super Admin.

Thanks for the SVG alternative tip, I'll give it a try.

Thanks,

Jackson

So you mean that "My sections" should be related with its creator (user) only and super user should see all of them ?

Hi Paul,

Yes, by default, as a user that has Edit capability, only me (Super Admin sees it too) can see My Sections/ My Add-ons that I created. But, there's an option that I can share a single saved My Sections/ My Add-ons or all of it to a Group.

Also, Yes, a Super Admin should be able to see all of what other users has saved, right? Super Admin, should be able to see everything that is why its called Super :p

Thanks,

Jackson
