Featured Lock Resolved
Hi,

I would like to link the Feature Icon and Read More button to a Joomla Article and not have it open on the front page as it currently does, please advise.

Thanks,

Maj

Hi there,

Sorry but we don't support template customisation. To display Joomla articles with Read More button, you may want to deploy Joomla's own category blog view or find some third party component/module that displays featured Joomla articles with this button.

Hi Alex,

Away from customisation, from a UX point of view, after clicking "Read More" the user is not able to determine the action and easily find the content, because the user will need to scroll down to see that new content has appeared after clicking. So, at least an anchor to take the user directly to the content would fix this issue.

Thanks,

Maj

Hi Maj,

Thanks for your suggestion. Much appreciated.

I am not sure though that anchor would appropriate as when your visitors click on the Read More, they actually get sent to the new page. I hear your pain of not having the text of the full article inside the fold but you can simply turn off the modules, positioned above the article, and it will pull it up for you. Makes sense?

Hi Maj,

If we install the University quick start web-site and create (by inserting the "Read More" button) a split between intro and full text of the "Accomodation", "Admission" and "University" articles, displayed by the "Features" module, then every time your visitor clicks on one of the "Read More" buttons at the "Features" module, they arrive at the corresponding article page.

As you said, due to modules, positioned above the article and assigned to "All", that is to all pages, the text of the article won't be displayed inside the fold. So, if you turn off those modules (like, for example, the slideshow) for your articles, your articles will pull up on the flow of the page. Makes sense?

Regards,

Alex
