Free access to courses with a login

Featured Lock Resolved Task
Is it possible to set up courses for sale individually but have a user group that can login and heve free access to all courses? This is so that we can just sell access to everything to an organisation so that their staff don't have to purchase individually.

Many thanks

Hi Toufiq,

We want to set up a new site to hold about 45 short courses. These would be for sale for a small price to anyone. But, we have a customer who wants their staff (about 20) to have access to all the courses. They are prepared to pay us one sum for full access. So we have two ideas:

  1. Set up one site with everything chargable and then copy it to another site/subdomain where everything is free for registered users. Good solution for the customer and stops unauthorised access but hard to update two sites.
  2. Use a different shopping cart which has the facility to enter a coupon code so we could issue this to the customer for their staff. Can this be added to SP LMS Cart or is there another that will work easily with LMS?

These are the only ways we can think of. We have tested the LMS and like it very much so would like to use it. If there is any way you can think of that would work, we would appreciate it. Otherwise we'll try our plan A or B and see how we get on.

Thanks again for the fantastic supprt - best of any Joomla developers!

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. Free user can visit the video without pay & paid user will able to visit the paid course. This is our LMS process.

Thanks Toufiq. As we understand it the ACL will allow us to set up groups that can edit/delete etc. We simply need to have two types of user - thise who pay individually and those who can enter any course free of charge.

Can't see how this is possible using ACL. Any help appreciated.

Hi there, Sorry to say that, now clear your demand. But, this is not possible using the LMS. Thanks

OK, thanks anyway. Maybe we can use a different shopping cart or full version of j2store ans use a code for those with free access?
