Helix Ultimate can't save settings?

We are using Helix Ultimate on a website and would like to make som changes to the template settings

BUT: When we have made the changes and click on "save" at the bottom nothing happens
The "save button" just show a small spinning icon and never saves..... the spinning icon is just staying there, nothing is saved and all we can do is leave the Helix Ultimate settings - without our changes being saved
NO error messages appear or anything...... it just sits there spinning with nothing happening

I have tried - with same problem - in Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox and Chrome browsers
I have also tried clearing all cookies, cache and run a "database repair" in Joomla
Does not help ....


We are using latest Joomla and Helix Ultimate 1.1.1


Can you help? I have attached a screendump so you can see what I mean :)

Please check these settings on your computer.

1. Old version of PHP (we suggest to use 7.0.x)
2. Not enabled GZip compression (in Global Configuration)
3. Problems with SSL/HTTS certificate *
4. Extra plugins: KL Admin Skin, AceSearch or JSN PowerAdmin or any similar which can change the appearance/behavior of your Joomla Admin**.
5. Low PHP memory limit (we suggest 128M or 256M)***

* SP PB request has been blocked by CORS policy - check several tips below.
** Disable all extra extensions (for test period) to check which make conflict.
*** Ask hosting support how to increase memory value. More is better.

Doesn't really help …..
First of all it is not SP Page Builder but the template Helix Ultimate that has the issue

1) PHP version on the site is 7.3.11
2) GZIP is not enabled on the site
3) SSL certificate is running on the site without any errors or notifications of any problems
4) None of the plugins you mention here is on the website as far as we knoe (have never even heard of them before)
5) Memory is set to 128 mb according to Joomla System Information

Any other ideas? :)

Thank you, but none of your 5 suggestions solve it...…

I looked at the related questions but that does not really have anything that suggest that people writing there ever found a solution ……

I paid a subscription hoping that Joomshaper had or could find a solution …… but suggesting that I search for a solution in the forum's other threads don't really solve it - I already searched a lot without finding anything….. so then I paid to get acces to ask for support.....

So I hope you can find a solution to suggest, that actually solves the problem...… ;)

Please disable your mod_security from the cPanel and check.

We don't have Cpanel at the host
But I have written to them and asked if there is a way we can try disabling it so we can check if that helps

I will get back to you with reply what they say about possibility to disable it, and how

OK so I got a reply from our host ….. they told me how to disable it in .htaccess

We tried it - did not help……

Any more suggestions?

If I reinstall Helix Ultimate, will all my settings in the template then be reset???

And as i wrote before we have already tried disabling mod_security through our .htaccess (we dont have a Cpanel) - and it does not help!

Is Helix Ultimate really not able to function without this ?
Every where I look it is not recommended to disable mod_secutiry and my host strongly warns me against doing this… they tell me that doing this is totally on our own risk and leaves us open for hacking...…

I am getting a bit desperate about this!
We really need to make some changes in the template and are completely stuck ….

Our site is located at speedbaaden.dk so it really doesn't help me that you have it working on another site?

Funny thing is that tonight (Denmark) it actually works in Firefox. All other browsers wont save the template settings….. and Firefox did not work yesterday …..

I can try, but I have no idea what they are supposed to see there?
The problem is not that Helix Ultimate works on OTHER URLs ….
The problem is that there are problems with Helix Ultimate on OUR site …..

Us showing my host at site that works will just make them say, that it is not their problem that I am using a template on my site that causes problems. And they would probably be right when they say that….. I am sure they will say that any changes needed are not with the host, but has to be made in the way the template works.
They have already asked ig I can provide them with some sort of log of what the template does? I don't think such a log is possible to make?

Maybe nobody really knows what the problem is (are we really just guessing for solutions?) , and that I just have to give up using Helix Ultimate eventually?
At the moment I can make changes on Helix Ultimate in Firefox and saving is done some of the times ….
So until some miracle turns up with a solution that actually works for Helix Ultimate, then I have to settle with not being able to make changes all the time...… and then look for another template that is not depending on "special settings" at my host...…

Thanks for your explanation. You can share my site logs with your hosting provider. Besides, You should change your hostings. Huge number of the user used Helix ultimate. Those people faced this issue, they have to disable the mod_security.

I now have the same problem again.

Had this before. Also previously reported to support. No correct solution offered. My solution was a new installation and reloading all content.
It seems that this is a problem that occurs with more users.
That is why it would be nice if you would like to do more research. If it is not possible to save the template, you can no longer do anything with styling. That is not good. I tried it in various browsers, systems, etc.
It has been going well with all my websites for a long time.
But now I have another website with this problem.

So there must be something that is not going well.

I would like more research because all the sugestions mentioned earlier are okay with me but still don't work.
