Help with a specific menu style

I'd like to not use the Helix menu style, and instead create a menu that has two horizontal levels to it.

The design idea is that the user would select an item from the default primary horizontal menu item, and then a 2nd horizontal menu would appear beneath it, with the 2nd level menu items.

Can you provide any guidance (or at least confirm that the Helix Ultimate template wouldn't prevent me from doing this)?

Hi,
Thanks for your query. Yes i've checked your screencast. Yes it's possible to get such layout in helix. But you need to do a lot of custom code for that. Here you can check the default functionality from my screencast https://files.fm/u/n2nr7kwf
