Probably a problem with cache or your browser is cursed, damned...
I suggest using a 2nd laptop for objective tests.

Multiple people are experiencing this within our company but only in Chrome. I've deleted all browser cache as well as flushed all server cache. I'll try quitting Chrome and starting it back. But others have done all that as well and still experience this issue.

I also just updated to SP Page Builder 3.4.5 but didn't change anything on my end. I'm wondering if it's an internal proxy/web filter thing... but still doesn't make sense this is happening in just Chrome.

Actually, I think I just found the culprit... it looks like SP Page Builder is adding a double slash after the ".com" in the image URLs. See screenshot...

Screenshot-2019-03-27-15.53.33.jpg

This appears to be confusing Chrome sometimes. If I delete the extra slash within Chrome's Inspector, the image suddenly appears.

BTW... When I look at the elements within SP Page Builder, the image path doesn't even have a beginning slash. So, in the circled example above, the image URL in SP Page Builder shows as "images/2019/01/22/best-pillow.jpg".

It's not doing it for most of my site. On the homepage, it's happening everywhere there's an "Image Overlay" Addon. The class is "overlay-background-image-wrapper".

Here's a code snippet...

<div class="overlay-background-image-wrapper">
<div class="overlay-background-image" style=" background-image:url(https://www.footlevelers.com//images/2018/12/12/worlds-leading-provider.jpg);"></div>
</div>

On another page, https://www.footlevelers.com/products/orthopedic-pillows, it's happening with the "Image Layout" Addon. Specifically for the "sppb-img-responsive" class:

Code snippet...

<img class="sppb-img-responsive" src="/https://www.footlevelers.com//images/2019/02/06/exyours.png" alt="Custom fit pillow support">

Thanks!

Thanks Paul. Did he inspect the image(s) and check their URL path to see if it had any extra slashes? I've noticed that Chrome will display the images sometimes but there are still additional slashes in the URL path.

I am having the same issue. The fix I am using is to manually enter the image URL into the Select Image field. It seems when the image is first selected, the URL is shortened to begin with "images/..." however, an extra "/" is added in front of the "images" (see the attached images).

Additional Slash.jpg
Manual Input.jpg

For instance, the URL used is https://www.familydoguniversity.com//images/... instead of https://www.familydoguniversity.com/images...

This extra slash causes the image link to break in Chrome but surprisingly allows the image to be seen in Firefox.

Is there a patch or something that could be written into SPBuilder to remove this extra slash?

Thanks!

I had the same problem in the past few days; today, without having done anything, the images are also visible on Chrome, what will it depend on?
Is there therefore a definitive solution to the problem?

I'm also having a problem viewing images from external links like those of webcams that have a .php extension.
However, this problem occurs on all browsers, even if I use modules instead of image boxes.
Could it be related problems?

Paul Frankowski - Staff

maybe it was Chrome problem, they update software very often.

There must still be a bug, because now again, neither the slideshow images nor the overlays are displayed.

The problem is that for the slideshow, as indicated by #diannalsantos is added a "/" and in the images from external links, like my webcam, the "s" is automatically added after http not making the image more accessible.

It is therefore a Page Builder problem.

Hi Paul,

I think it's a Chrome "problem" only in that Chrome can't handle double slashes after the domain very well. I just took this screenshot of the inspector in Safari. The double slashes are still there... but they shouldn't be.

Screen Shot 2019-04-04 at 9.07.07 AM.png

Hopefully your dev team is working on fixing the double slash issue?

I am also having the exact same issue with double slashes // in the image URL in Carousel Pro and even the new Slider addon.

I am using the Joomshaper Spectrum template. Joomla and all extensions are up to date with patches. Caches all cleared on hosting and browser.

A workaround is to put the entire URL in for the Carousel Background Image or Carousel Image.

The problem appears to be when PageBuilder attempts to merge the website base URL with the shortened image URL that does not include the base URL. In this process an additional slash / gets added.

we will check it deeply soon.

Hi,
I have checked in Chrome, operating system is Mac here the screenshot there is no extra slash. Let me know that you can view this site image. This is a test site so don't expect fully furnished and not broken thing. :D

Also we are talking about "Image Overlay" addon not "Image Layouts" addon. If you are talking about Image Overlay then download the "site.zip" file then unzip and replace it on "your-site-directory/components/com_sppagebuilder/addons/image_overlay/" hope double slash issue will be fixed.

Thanks,
Mamun

Thank you Al. Should we start a new thread about the Image and Image Layout Addons then? Entering the full URL for the image in the image selector is the current workaround, but if there is a similar file we can replace in the directory to fix the double slash issue, that would be great.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you. Yes, the Image Overlay site.php file seems to have fixed the double // for the images URL for the Image Overaly addon in both Chrome and Firefox.

Hi,
Replace this file like previous one in "your-site-directory/components/com_sppagebuilder/addons/image_layouts/".

I have the same issue. Reading through some of these responses from the developers, same sarcastic responses I have received in the past (with only a few posts), are pretty irritating especially since this is a subscription service. None of us are using free plugins, we paid for this, and rather than make sarcastic comments, check the code and try to listen to what customers are telling you.

I had to disable the slider and am now using Unite Slider as that was working fine for me for quite some time, and within a few months of switching to using sppagebuilder's slider, I now have this bug to deal with, plus having to read through multiple sarcastic or dismissive responses from Joomshaper developers.

I can confirm that there is a // now added to the code, breaking the images. The only way around it is to use the full url. I have a test page loading up a slider to check now. Hopefully this will be addressed. I like joomshaper, but could use better support and customer service for issues.

Hi digitalmaster,

Sorry for your bad experience. Can you please share post link where you got sarcastic reply? We always try to give you best experience but sometime we face limitation for our language problem other than we have almost no problem at all. Please refer the post link I will give you a feedback.

Thanks,
Mamun

Above, the issue is simply going back adn forth and not investigating your own issue. So, we end up having users post several replies over days, or weeks, and rather than simply checking out the code, the response is that it's not an issue. However, it is an issue, and caused one for me.

As for the links, I had a similar experience. It was cleared up in the end, but i gave my username and password, someone responded repeatedly over several days that they couldn't log in, even stated in the original post that they could not log in unless I gave them the correct info, and then they finally realized that they didn't read my whole message and they figured out how to login. The info was correct the whole time.

So, from my viewpoint, that is coming back and forth, posting responses over several days (or a week), all because of a developer for Joomshaper that failed to read the info I gave him in the first place. That is not only a waste of your time and mine, but also my time if it is my website, and my client's time, if they have to follow up and see what's happening. etc.I'm just asking that you improve this part. I love Joomshaper, I gave up Joomlart, and many other competitors because I prefer your tools, but I don't like wasting time when there is an issue because of an update.

This is a HUGE issue and I have found many images missing on pages, and were only showing up in cache. I have already noticed that Google is starting to see these links as pointing to errors, and it will harm any customer of Joomshaper by reducing rank. This is not a minor bug!
