I have a few layout issues with the Jomsocial template:

1. Profile picture is not aligned properly, The issue has been reported long ago, but I dont see a fix for it

2. See attached. There is some whitespace in the "latest members" block on the frontpage.

3. See attached. The online members block is not stiled properly

4. See attached. Inserted module in Jomsocial module position is not styled at all

Are you using our latest Social template?

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
Hi
Yes, I am using version 2.4.1. However, i forgot to include some information. I have deleted the file frontpage.index.php because it had a lot of whitespace and I did not like the position of "latest members".

Please have a look at the attached. As you can see, there is a problem with the native override. I am hoping that a fix for this, will also fix the issue with my "customization" :-)

We suggest you to keep all files intact. If you remove anyone then the whole layout may breaks. After restore the template I will see your site again. Thanks

I have a similar problem except the Maximum length must not be set correctly. This only happens on the Latest Groups Avatars. The width is 160 but I don't know where to change the Length so they all match. Is it a var setting somewhere? I am using the latest template with JS 2.4.2

@Joomlad, it should be in JomSocial. Height is auto in the region you've marked.

Check Jomsocial avatar/group avatar option, ratio etc

Hi almamun,

I've looked under display settings in JS configuration in the back-end but I don't see ratio. It only turns Avatars on/off. Can you specify a path?
Thanks.

Lars

That is not a setting, I think you need to look in the code. So you should probably ask at Jomsocial support

Lars

I am, but like I said I have the frontpage.guests and frontpage.index disabled. I did enabled them but as I explained, I had to disable them again as I was not aware of when you would have a look.

So, please let me know when you will be able to have a look, so I dont have to have those files enabled the whole time

Hi Almamum,

This is the same page as above using JomSocial default. This shows the thumbs correctly so it is Shaper Social template that is not defining height/width correctly. I did not change anything that would have led to this, I only uploaded images to the Group and they showed up as this in the module.

JomSocial support said they will not touch this because it may throw off the other thumbs (also because it is a 3rd party template and not their own. Can you give me your PM so I can send my site credentials for help with this?

Thanks.

@joomlad, add this to your template's css
#latest-groups li img.avatar { height: 45px;}

@larsh, did you get my pm?
Enable that problematic template for few hours so that we can look at it.

Hi

Can you please just write here instead? i am getting emails from the forum

Ok, so I have restored the frontpage.index file. Have a look now please:
http://www.1219.dk/

You can see the bugged styling on inserted module below the latest videos. I have inserted a module only showing the header "test".

Also, you can see all the white space. Are the positions not supposed to collapse when not used? Its not exactly pretty looking at white space

almamun

More than a month ago #Permalink
Publish that module in js_left_top or js_left_bottom position

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
I am sorry, but what is that supposed to fix? It does not make any change on neither the styling or the white space.

Also, I notised that the problem is also present in the demo, as you can see here:
link to demo
See the banner ads module? Same problem with the stying

almamun

More than a month ago #Permalink
You mean "Social" template demo?
That's not a bug, rather different style with a module class suffix.

However, tell me in which position you have published the module

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
Yes, the social demo, Jomsocial part. Was a bit hasty trying to link it seems :-)

What suffix are you using for that single module placed in Jomsocial module position?
I have is placed at js_side_bottom currently

almamun

More than a month ago #Permalink
Try changing line 18 in module.css like this or add this line to template's css file
.mod-wrapper h3.header{font-size:14px!important;font-weight:700!important;height:45px!important;line-height:45px!important;background:#fff url(../images/h3-bg.png) repeat-x 0 100%!important;color:#A9A9A9!important;margin:0!important;padding:0 10px!important}

clean all cache and see what happens.
and check pm inbox

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
Seems to work, thanks :-)

How about the whitespace? Also, there is still the issue with the profile picture not being placed correctly I see this problem in the demo as well

I am not on Skype much and these issues seem to be of a general chacater, so I am guessing that other users would benefit if we keep the issues here (?)

I have found some more issues:

1. Built in module positions
When adding more modules to js_left_top/bottom, there are no space between them as you can see here:
http://www.1219.dk/
By the way, where can I find documentation for these positions? I would like to know which ones are available

2. White space
In addition to the issue allready described, it turns out that you get a column of white space right to the activities, as soon as you use only one column, either the built in positions js_left_top/bottom or the column with search, logged in users etc. Even if using only the joomla module positions, the column is pushed to the right, creating white space.

3. Content not shown
It seems that even if Jomsocial is configured to display activity content, it is not displayed.

4. No disable user
There is no option to block users when loggen in as admin. Only the user-user block is visible

Seems the plugin is creating the problem. Try to use our built-in compression system.

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
I did try to turn it on. CSS compression causes other issues and Javascript compression does not change anything.
Which issues is this supposed to solve?

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
I am trying out a new look for my frontpage now, as its not working out with the above described. But now I am having another problem with white space. I have everyting deactivated, except the "join now", and as you can see, there is a chunk of empty space. When logged in, its even worse.

How can I fix this??

Please keep our templates files active so that we can look at it. Screenshot is not enough helpful.

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
Yes I know, but I cant use the frontpage.guest.php as there is no "join now" button. So I cant leave the original file active all the time.

Its restored now, so please have a look:

Hi
Its been 4 hours now, and I will remove the native template file again, as I cant use the original as I have mentioned a few times now. Please let me know when you will be looking so I can restore the file in question.

In your stylesheet http://www.1219.dk/components/com_community/templates/default/css/style.layout.css arroun fline 39

#community-wrap {
display: inline-block;
width: 100%;
text-align: left;
min-height: 450px;
min-width: 650px;
margin: 0 0 30px;
position: relative;
}

set min-height as 200px and margin as 0 0 0 0

Thanks

Lars

Thanks, that does solve the problem for guests, but there is still a big empty space once logged in

JomSocial is creating some problem during css compression.

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
Dude, what am I supposed to do with that reply? Can you elaborate please? What problem are you referring to? I have mentioned several. Also, any hint on the solution would be cool.

almamun

More than a month ago #Permalink
When compressed, css files load as single file and some style sheets lose priority/importance and that's the problem. Please google for an elaborate discussion about it

Lars

More than a month ago #Permalink
Are you saying thats the cause of all the issues I have listed here? That does not sound right. Besides, I dont think Jomsocial is doing any compression of CSS files.
