Meta description with shortcode (not entered by me)

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
I created an article and linked it to a main menu item.
I had not entered the meta-descriptions yet.
immediately below the title of the article h1 I had put a shortcode to view a plugin of my facebook page and below, of my youtube channel.

I realized that the page was a mistake.
Then I found that as a OG meta description, there was a shortcode of a plugin.

I solved it by immediately putting a paragraph of text under the title.
Or a photo and under a paragraph of text and then only under the plugins again.

The developer said that sometimes the template or joomla if it finds the empty description or description, fills it with what it finds.

I just wanted to report it, maybe it's a bug.

Then I didn't understand a thing:

If I link an article to a menu item, what meta tags do I need, those from the menu item or the article?
Or do I have to put the same identical meta tags in both the menu item and the article?
Thank you!

Hi there,

Thanks for your query. If you use the Article metadata & menu metadata. Then the article metadata will show your page source. Besides, menu metadata used when you have created the blog list, category blog, etc page. The article details page will display the article metadata. I would request to you that, please read the Joomla doc.

I do not understand!

When I put this as a menu item: (single item), which metatag indexes google?
Do those in the menu override those in the article?

So in this case I can leave the menu item blank, right?

Hi there, Yes, You can leave. But, if you wanna use the blog, then you should use blog menu metadata and you should add metadata every article. But, no need to add metadata inside the menu item for a single article with a single menu. Thanks
