I have done everything exactely like that just my menues are not called englishmenu.

When I publish the menues in the defined module position I lose the styling of the menu.
It comes out as simple ul list.

Disable "Menu" module if you have published in "menu" position. It common issue.
2nd, I guess, you forgot about one of the steps, I can bet for $1.

I found the "solution" in the forum:

Daniele about 10 months ago
I was hoping to find the solution in this article, but it was a general guide and not specific for Helix Templates...

However, having found the solution for this template, I think I do something pleasing to everyone in posting the simple solution

Menu items created in the English, French, etc. menus must be moved to the Main Menu (the form of which must be reactivated)... and do not forget to publish it in the "offcanvas" position.

In the Main Menu there is probably a "Home" item set for All Languages; if it is a duplicate of the other items it is not possible to delete it, but we can move it, for example in a new Menu that we can call "Hidden", sometimes useful to put other items or links of Articles ... I use it for example the item Privacy in order to have http://www.mysite.tld/privacy

You should commit to this problem by providing a tutorial that is made with helix and not prostar. Because your tutorial doesnt work with helix :D

Please understand, you cannot assign a multiple translated menu modules in "menu" the template pulls automatically mainmenu and thats it. So the "solution" is to have only one mainmenu with multiple languages exactely different as in your tutorial.

Hope that helps.
