New page uses existing template

Featured Lock Resolved Task
Hi. I have just started to use SP Page Builder 3 to create a new page on an existing site I created. I selected the "Business" template to import and created a new page, then added a menu link to the new page. However, the new page is using the existing "Protostar" template. The "Business" template is not in my list of templates and I can't find a way to detach the Protostar template from the new page. I believe I have followed all the instructions but I must have missed something. Help!

It includes I have presented you on screenshot , but those are PAGE templates.
I think you have very low experience with joomla, right.

1) Install Helix3 template
2) Set as default for all pages
3) Create a new Page in SPPB
4) Create a new Menu item with created (3) Page

Check front-end and click into link (4)

Hi,
your "Business" template must be set as default (gold star in Template Manager)
it must be assigned to all menu items.
---
Protostar template is good for fun, not for real use.

Thanks Paul, but the Business template isn’t in my template list. I created a new page and selected Page Template, then imported it; the design appeared in Page Builder but the template isn’t in the template list. I just tried again with a new page and another template and the same thing happened.

You mean 3th Page Template from list : https://www.joomshaper.com/page-builder/page-templates
---
sorry, I don't understand that part
" but the template isn’t in the template list. "

---
Page Templates are only for single Pages for SPPB view only. Like "picture for one room".

OK, but the Business template doesn't appear in the list of "Templates (Styles)" as shown in your first reply: see screenshot. I've just watched one of the tutorial videos and I think the problem is that I haven't got the "shaper_helix3" template in my list of Joomla templates either. How do I get this?
Thanks.

Paul, I found and located the standard helix3 template from your site. Now it works fine. But I don't understand why the SPPB download didn't include the shaper_helix3 template originally?

Are there any differences between the standard helix3 template and the shaper_helix3 template?

Thanks.

SPPB = component + module

Shaper Helix3 = template + template framework plugin

Two different products.

So are you saying that SPPB doesn’t include any templates?

I don’t understand what template you are supposed to use to create a new Page in SPPB?

As I said earlier, I created a new page and imported one of the Page Templates - “Business” - included in SPPB. The layout appeared in back end of SPPB but in front end the page didn’t display like it’s supposed to, as the default Joomla template, Protostar, was used. But I didn’t have any alternative templates to select.

If selecting a Page Template in SPPB doesn’t install that template in Joomla’s template styles, and the template shown in your first reply and in the video tutorial (“shaper_helix3”) is not there either, what template style am I supposed to use?

Thanks.

Thank you Paul

The clip is very helpful. It’s a shame that isn’t referenced in the SPPB3 documentation (the Video button in my installation doesn’t work at all).

I’ve been building websites with Joomla for a couple of years, so I wouldn’t say my experience is exactly “low”.

I can’t find any mention in the SPPB3 documentation that the Helix 3 framework and template needs to be installed. It would be useful if the documentation could be updated to help SPPB newcomers like myself to get started.

Thanks
Steve
