Override template styles

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Please help in solving the problem

I have a complex website template (Helix menu).

I make changes to the template styles in the file:
www /templates/ luxstar/css/template.css

After the updating Joomla, all changes fly off...

How do I override template styles?

Olga, always start from template documenation, there is information how to use custom CSS.
In helix based templates you should use custom.css

Hi,
When you update your joomla please always make sure that you have a backup. For backup you can use AKEEBA backup otherwise all changes are gone

Thanks for the advice

I only lose some style changes in the css-file (color, font-size, padding e.t.c)

not the whole template...

When I go into the template manager to change the font, my settings also previously modified styles disappear
