PageBuilder 2 template pages - use on raw Joomla?

Featured Lock Resolved Task
Hi,

If I want to make use of the template Homepage available within PageBuilder 2.x, do I just install PB on a native/clean Joomla environment and create the homepage via PB and set it as the Home link? Will this create the menu styling etc. that I can see on your demo of the homepage template etc. or are there other steps?

Thanks,

Chris

Ok no it doesn't - can you help on the steps required?

At the moment, doing this just shows a rather messed up homepage layout.

Thanks,

Chris

Applying the Helix 3 template (just downloading the template and setting as default) as the default template sorts it.

Need to turn off the default 'Show Page Title' in the Home menu settings too.

Chris,

Helix and page builder work great together.
Page builder can work with other templates
Page builder builds pages that can be displayed on any menu as a component. You may have to turn off all the other modules for that menu item to get it to display the way you like.
With helix, you can design a home page that doesn't have any module positions. Or perhaps just hear, component and footer.
Then build another style for other pages. Put you other modules positions on this one and set it as the default style
Set the styles to the menu items.

This is the way i usually use the two products together

Use helix to structure pages - template style in Joomla parlance

Use page builder to make individual pages and assign them to a stripped down template style.

Does that help?

Thanks, I think my misunderstanding was that the PageBuilder 2 information pages on JoomShaper show some page templates you can apply using PageBuilder 2 - but unless you have the Helix III template installed and set as default, this doesn't work.

For a newcomer (which I'm not but still got a little confused), it may be that the documentation for PageBuilder 2 needs updated to show how to use these page templates and get a site that looks like the demo JoomShaper provides as it wasn't obvious. The demo and information for pageBuilder 2 suggests that you can just create the Home template page and get a site that looks like the demo...which isn't true, there are more steps.

Chris
