Featured Lock Resolved Bug

I bought the Yoga template last year and now wanted to also use the event modules on the website. (did need only courses so far)
Unfortunately, I instantly got an error as per the attached screen shot.

"DateTime::__construct(): Failed to parse time string (20. Januar 2020) at position 7 (u): The timezone could not be found in the database"

I searched a bit and found some post here about this issue, but non of them did solve my error.
Sadly, some of the posts needed with: "Pls give your your access and I'll fix it for you!" while this is generally great support, it doesn't really help any others and also I would believe such "bugs" should be fixed at least with their next update. I thought that maybe a "paid" update would help, since support time had expired. However, even after updating the template with the newest version, this error persists.

Could you therefore please have a look into this and offer a solution? Thanks!

(btw: Time Zone is Berlin, German language)

Wasn't that about Unexpected character?
Here it as about missing time zone.

Anyway, my file is slightly different, since the code is not at the expected line (57)

I think this is because of these changes:

// $this->item->event_start_date = JHtml::date($this->item->event_start_date , 'DATE_FORMAT_LC3');
// $this->item->event_end_date = JHtml::date($this->item->event_end_date , 'DATE_FORMAT_LC3');
$this->item->event_start_date = $this->item->event_start_date;
$this->item->event_end_date = $this->item->event_end_date;

at line 15-18.

I also changed the corresponding lines below. Will check.
