Problem with displaying articles created with SP Page Builder as a Blog

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi,
I am experiencing a problem with displaying articles created with SP Page Builder as a Blog.
When using Menu Item "Category Blog", the article is not showing. Interestingly enough if I select Menu Item "Single Article" the article shows perfectly. Not sure what is wrong. Joomla 3.8.6, PHP. 7.0, template "Varsita".

I would very much appreciate your help. Thank you.

What was the solution to this. I have the same issue on any page that is either a Category Blog style page or a "Featured Articles" page (i.e. Home). They show only the "default editor content" and not the Page Builder content.

Please update and let me know what to do to correct this. I'm on Joomla 3.8.11+ and it doesn't seem to matter what template I use, the problem is the same (even the default Protostar).

Hi,

Hmm. I see what you are doing there. Is there any chance you will be correcting this so it works "normally", like with the regular page builder, a read more element, then the rest of the article?

This is another case of "not easy for the end user", especially if they want their blog page or even featured articles page to be styles easily like the interior page. It also basically makes them have to enter their content for the "intro" part twice and using two different editors.

I don't think that this is very user friendly and especially since the category blog is such a standard Joomla feature that is used a lot.

Toufiq,

I understand that there is currently no other way to do this. My question is "will there be any development to resolve this issue".

Here's the problem:
An end-user who has no technical skills will be confused by the process of doing this. They have to go into the article, edit in the standard editor what they want to have in the "intro text" part, add a "readmore", go to the Page Builder Editor and add what they want in the Full text version and make sure that they save in the Page Builder Editor view so that the standard editor text isn't the only thing that shows on the interior pages.

The way that we will temporarily work around the issues that we otherwise came across is to use the "Joomla Article" addon in the Page Builder so that at least the "main list page" of articles will be controlled by a Pagebuilder addon, but it is still a bit confusing to tell the end user to use both editors - especially when we are already telling then NOT to use the standard editor for MOST cases - now we have this one weird exception to the rule.

Again - the primary problem I have with this is that the Category Blog is a standard Joomla! feature. It's not like I'm expecting the Page Builder to work with some other third party product.

As seems to be the case with most page builder products on the market - they are put out with the intention of making editing easy for end users who are not technical and then have oddities like this, making some parts even harder than they would have been with no Page Builder at all.

Please consider making your WHOLE product more approachable for non-developers. I have a list of issues like this one, such as the inability to link to menu items on a button, the requirement to use things like
,
etc inside of some text boxes while JCE is shown in other text boxes (even within some of your template page templates this is shown), and some other related items that I've already brought up in other tickets. I know I'm not alone in these concerns.

Hi there,

Thanks all of you guys. When we have made this product & that was my first request to my developer team. But, every CMS has some limitations. Besides, always we try to full-fill our user requirements. Which is not possible I always let you know after discussing my developer team. I hope you guys understand the situation.

Toufiq - please still take this to your developers. I understand that every CMS has limitations. I previously used the JSN PageBuilder3. I didn't care for it and many of the things that it did, but during its development, one of the features that they were able to add and which worked was exactly this one: the ability to add a Read More inside the Page Builder as an element and then it could be used on a Category Blog page just as any other standard editor article could be.

There were many of my other issues addressed there as well, such as being able to browse menus and articles to create links on things such as buttons. I still didn't like the end product, which is why I've switched over to your Page Builder.

But please be careful using phrases like "which is not possible".

Thanks for your efforts in resolving this gap in the product.

Hey @Al Mamun,

Have you had any chance to look into if this is something that can be modified to work in a regular Joomla Category Blog way?
