Problem with giving link to aticles

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
I have an issue:

I want to give link to a joomla article, I know that I need to make a menu for that article and copy the menu's link and paste it in the button, but my problem is that I don't want the menu item to be published in my site, but when I un-publish it then the link would not work anymore.

would you please guide me with that?

thanks in advance

Hi,
use hidden menu,
create a new Menu, name it "SEF-Menu" or "Hidden-Menu" but do not publish the menu module with it. Joomla will be able to create a short link (alias) anyway.

It's a method used in Joomla since 2005. Yes, 14 years. It's a basic trick which I teach my students on 2nd day.

2nd method request using "Preview" extension from Regular Labs.
3rd is only for eXperts.

Hi again Paul,

I did that at first but would you please tell me where to find the link address? when it was published, I copy it from the url in the browser but now?

I know it seems very basic to you but I am always learning.

thanks for your help

actually I managed that.

I made the menu item published but in the "link type" section i set the "display in menu" to no, then i add it's alias to the end of it's parent menu item address.
