Problem with LINK field in IMAGE add-on

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi,
In a recent build of PageBuilder, there is now a partial link filled in in the IMAGE add-on that affects existing images that are placed.

We have a site with hundreds of images that now, in browsers, indicate there's a link when there is none.

When I open an image I've placed previously, I see there's an "http://" filled in to the LINK field (this was never there before) and it registers as an active link on the live site.

http://wheatstone.com/images/Problems/PageBuilderProblemA.jpg

When you hover over it, your cursor indicates there's a link and you see in the status bar at the bottom that there's a link, but no address is shown:

http://wheatstone.com/images/Problems/PageBuilderProblemB.jpg

Finally, when you click on it, you go to a dead page:

http://wheatstone.com/images/Problems/PageBuilderProblemC.jpg

Now, I COULD go over the entire site ( http://wheatstone.com ) and search for and fix these where ever they are, but I am hoping you might have a global way to undo what a recent update seems to have done.

Thanks,
Bob

Hi, The problem shows up sitewide, but here's an example:

https://wheatstone.com/radio-products1/radio-consoles/digital-consoles/2016-11-28-09-23-44

The very first image on the page is the one I used in the screen captures. Working your way down the page, any place I used the IMAGE add-on, as opposed to placing an image using the TEXT add-on, is now a clickable link to nowhere. As I said, problem is site-wide.

Hope that helps you.

Thanks,
Bob

Hi there,

I have checked this URL and doesn't seem like your screenshot. I have checked also Safari browser.

It is exactly my screen shot. I am looking at yours and looking at mine right here in this thread and they are the same. Just click on the first image of the page link I sent you. The top image. It links to nowhere.

Seriously, that hasn’t really got a lot to do with the problem that suddenly in Pagebuilder a field is being filled in on existing pages that causes this link to nowhere.

Please offer a fix.

Thank you,
Bob

It is the TOP image on the page. Your screenshot cuts it off. The VERY FIRST IMAGE OF THE TWO MIXERS. Not the shot of the man at the console. Just check the link please and click on that top image. It has a link that starts with “https://“ as does every image on my site that was placed before one of the recent Pagebuilder updates. Just click on that top image. If you want admin privileges, just email me and I will provide them for you.

Thanks,
Bob

If it helps, I've made a movie showing the problem. Here's a link:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/rodp9x7946eprh5/PageBuilderProblemExample.mov?dl=0

It first shows our web page and how when you click on the top image, you get a link to nowhere. Then it shows the ADMIN side where I open the page, open the IMAGE add-on, and show you where the LINK field is partially filled in which provides a null link to the live image.

My guess is that the "http://" visible in that LINK field was not supposed to be actual text there, but greyed out in the background to suggest what type of input that field was looking for.

We've used the IMAGE add-on all over our site, and every image that previously had no link now has one to nowhere.

Please let me know a time for a TEAM VIEWER that would work for you and I'll try to work with that.

Thanks,
Bob

That works fine.

Any NEW images I place on our site work fine, also.

This problem affects ONLY images that were already in place before whichever upgrade of SP PAGEBUILDER caused it. And on our site, we have a LOT of them.

So, in summary:

New Image - no problem.

Images placed before upgrade: Problem that LINK field is now auto-filled with "http://"

Hopefully, there will be a fix that eliminates all those so that I don't have to go over every page and manually delete all of those.

If you want to see one that's still a problem, or want access to the admin side of our site, just let me know.

I am attaching a FRONT EDITOR view of the next image on that same URL that has the problem. EVERY image on our site has developed this problem.

Thanks,

Bob

I did that yesterday. Was hoping this would be fixed in one of the three updates since I posted.
