! Search Keyword Highlighting Bug

Featured Lock Resolved Bug
Hi,

For some time now I have been having issues with my sites that are running Joomla 3.7.2 or higher. Since the update to 3.7.2 my site has been displaying code tags around the search keywords when anyone performs a site search.

I have been keeping an eye on this issue since it happened and have found the Issue Tracker online, although everything points to the problem being caused by template overrides rather that the Joomla Core.

Attached is a screenshot of the issue on one of my sites. This is an INTERNAL site - our company Intranet - and as such is not accessible to anyone outside our network. I can't give you access so screenshots will have to do.

I have another public website using Corporex, but have not upgraded to the latest Joomla version because I want this issue fixed before I upgrade as our site is viewed by large number of our community and we cannot have unresolved issues displayed like this.

Here is a link to the Issue Tracker where I found the idea for the solution of this bug. This does not work for me as I have checked my files and they already have the correct code.

Can you please let me know how to solve this issue so I can fix by broken sites and get the others updated and secure on the latest Joomla versions.

Thank you!
Sarah

Hi,

Please create override com_search extension. Then you will get the file location and search result file.

Hi,

Thanks for your response and the answer on GitHub.

I've gone into both my Corporex templates and the folders/files you mention are not there.

In one site I have no 'com_search' folder in the .../templates/corporex/html directory.
I do have a 'mod_search', but no 'com_search).

In the other site I do have a 'com_search' folder in the .../templates/corporex/html directory, but the file in the /search folder is called 'default_form.php'.

What should I do in this situation?

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi,

Thanks for your response. As stated in my first post

This is an INTERNAL site - our company Intranet - and as such is not accessible to anyone outside our network. I can't give you access so screenshots will have to do.

Can you please tell me what you would like to look at - I can get screenshots for you?

Thanks,
Sarah

Hi,

Thanks very much! I completed the steps in your screenshots and successfully implemented the new override. Upon checking the file referenced in the GitHub link I noticed that it did not need any changes, so checked my site and all is working. It appears the override fixed everything on it's own.

Thank you very much for you help!!
