SEO and SP Page Builder don't work together

Featured Lock Resolved
Hello Alex,

I tried to do what your suggested in this post: https://www.joomshaper.com/forums/cleaner-user-friendly-url-address. Unfortunately, after activating both features in Joomla global settings --> site as per your post, it broke every link on the site. By reverting back, it was back to normal.

I thought that I would leave the setting as per your suggestion and may be I just need to recreate the linkages in the menus and any href links inside each individual articles. That didn't work either.

Can you please advise me what I am missing?

Thank you. Ronny

Hi,
you have to rename one file first: htaccess.txt to .htaccess
believe me all works , it's Joomla settings , we didn't change behaviour of CMS , what is important even template cannot do that.
To get short urls (alias), add all pages created in SP PB should be added as a menu items.

Ronny how long you are using Joomla?

Hi Paul,

I did as you said. There were 2 files in the directory without carefully looking. Now I removed and renamed htaccess.txt as per our discussion.

Are you saying that in order to get friendly url, I have to add all SPages to a menu item? However, what if I don't want the SPPages to be published to a menu yet, I still want the friendly URL for marketing landing pages that only specific partners can access without a login?

I've been using Joomla for 4 years (on and off) -- however, I'm now getting to be good at it.

That's all Joomla basics and has nothing to do with Joomshaper Ronny.
Just create a hidden menu or even better, just make it not visible in the menu item options...(display in menu => no)

Ok...I think I've done your steps correctly. If the menu is hidden, how do I get the now SEO friendly URL? I appreciate your patience a lot.

Hi Ronny,

If you have created a hidden-menu item, the url should be: http://www.yourwebsite.com/menu-alias-name
Check the file attached. The name of the article is not important for seo or sef. Only the menu alias. In this example the url is http://www.website.com/showroom-bezoek.

Good luck!
Martin

Because all component views which has been added to menu have short alias, alias name which you can control / manage.
So some people say it's good for SEO.
Even when menu item is hidden link to this resource is still there and also have/use short alias.

Years ago was a book about SEO for Joomla! - rules are this same but Joomla! version has changed.
