Site responsive on mobile phone

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi,

I will put on my website videos and pictures with template helix ultimate. But I would like these medias appear well on website for mobile devices.

I read on other site I could put this css for video for example :

In a new css file :

.video-responsive{
overflow:hidden;
padding-bottom:56.25%;
position:relative;
height:0;
}
.video-responsive iframe{
left:0;
top:0;
height:100%;
width:100%;
position:absolute;
}

And put this code on html page :

<div class="video-responsive">
<iframe src="lien vers ma vidéo" title="">
</div>

The problem is that's a bit heavy to put this code on all the webpages.
Any more simple solution?

Thanks.

G.

Hi,
find a player module or plugin which have all code & features you need.

How do you post your videos? In an article? In a pagebuilder page or addon? Do you paste custom and raw HTML code?

@pepperstreet
It is very hard to help people who still learn Joomla basics.

Hi,
@pepperstreet : I'm putting video on article on joomla. Yes I paste that div code to test.

@Paul : what do you mean about plugin/module with all code? Do you have some examples?

Thanks.

Yes, but in general we are NOT consulting company or webmasters school. There is thin border between support and consulting.

Check those:
AllVideos - from JoomlaWorks
or
OSYouTube plugin

I believe, there are also some 3rd-party Joomla "Custom Fields" for video. ;)

Hi,

Thanks pepperstreet. Do you have more examples about that?
In which menu you should find these "Custom fields"?

Gandalf, do you want to break the system?

Hi,

I looked on documentation.
But first I would like to know what kind of field I can use? There are many... it seems that media file is only for the picture?

If you have an example it would be great.

Thanks.

In that case, you have to search on Joomla Extension Directory with the phrase "custom fields" .

ok Paul but don't understand why I need to create custom field. The need is just to avoid to add on each page the following code.... :

<div class="video-responsive">
<iframe src="lien vers ma vidéo" title="">
</div>

Sorry, maybe I didn't understand what you wanted. Because one you talked about video than about custom fields.

Anyway HTML code
you can use inside RAW HTML addon
or use tips from SP Page Builder Manual > section "How To Do"

Sorry, I did not want to confuse anybody, nor complicate things.
I have mentioned CustomFields as one possibility (of many others).
Personally, I am not a fan of pasting code fragments or bigger HTML snippets... I know, it's common practice, if you have a big HTML input area... called article.
;)
I like to streamline things, and make user input as easy as possible. So, I would try to out-source all repeated markup. The data to input should be the raw link... or a video ID# etc.

If you don't care about the actual input, and you don't have to hand out the site to another person... that's fine too!

Thanks pepperstreet but for that I need more detailed examples. I agree with you for maintenance this is better....

There are Joomla content PLUGINS, which embed different video sources. Most likely they insert a SHORTCODE inside your article text. Which is slightly better than raw HTML markup. Often they come with an editor extend button, which helps to insert the shortcode syntax more easily. For instance "Video Embedder" by extra-media; AllVideos by JoomlaWorks; Embed and Video plugins by JoomlaShack; etc.

I have also seen a PLUGIN by the JCE Editor author, which finds regular Video/Media links in your content... and than adds special classes and markup around them.

Regarding CUSTOM FIELDS, there are also different vendors.
For instance: JooMill.nl ; Tassos.gr ; NX-Designs (youtube only)
Please, check for free and pro differences.

Hope this helps.
