Smart Search - How to show more information as only the title in the results list?

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi JS Team,

I need some help - please.

Smartsearch is running on my project - but the results i get are not as expected.
The first screen shows the results from pages that are realized with SP Page Builder Pages.
The second screen shows the results from articles that are realized wit Joomla Article.

How do i get more Information into the results for pages that are realized with SP Page Builder Pages.

Note: To use Page Builder as Editor inside a joomla article and don't use pages is NOT a option.

Is there any possibility to give a short description to a page - like the normal article result is showing?

Thanks Ralf

Hi there,

Thanks for your query. If you use the Page Builder inside the page builder then you can add the short description inside the Joomla content area.

Did you read my text Toufiq?

I have highlighted that i talk from Pages - not from Articles that took SP Builder as Editor. I allready know if i use SP Builder as Editor that i can include the informations in the joomla Article.

But i am talking from the Pages area - why is there no possibility e.g. like the description from the page that will be displayed as search results text?

Thanks Ralf

Could I upvote a fix for this - would it be possible to use the open graph description in the index? This would give you a stable field to pull the information from?

Thanks

Hi there,

Thanks for your reply. Open graph for the social media share content. Not for the search. Thanks

I'd really like to see more information is the search results page too. It's very lacking, users expect to see more than this.

It would be a great addition.

Hi there, Thanks for your suggestion. Already it has been added in our working board. Thanks

Hi team,

Is there a way to add a description to search results to SPPB Pages yet (without the need to use Joomla editor) whether in Joomla Search or Smart Search?

Because as of now it still only has a link for the page title within search results.

I have tried adding a description to the menu item meta data as well but that does not work either.

Can you do this as a part of "custom work"?

We can work out a price for this feature as the community really needs this feature.

Thanks

Developer team replied that is not possible to add a description to search result.

Could you send me the Joomla administrator access via PM?

-Thanks

I think this feature is very in demand and should be considered by the developer team. Perhaps rather than saying it's not possible they can work on an actual solution? I'm sure the users would appreciate it, they ask for it quite a lot.

Hi there, Thanks for your explanation. Always we have tried to do everything client demand. But, Everything is not possible. You are a user of Joomla and you should have knowledge of CMS limitation. I hope you will understand the situation. Thanks

Thanks for your reply.

I do understand the limitation of Joomla CMS, but this is a Joomshaper limitation, not Joomla, it can display search results perfectly fine. I think the limitation is on the Joomshaper development team. There is a solution to every issue, it just takes creative thinking.

My Opinion: If it is possiblt to fetch the title (which is the menu item name) and the link for the sp pagebuilder pages which is generated - it should be also possible to fetch the meta description for this menu item.

Where should be the problem? I just want to understand this...

Thanks,

If that's the case, why not add this option in the configuration settings? Rather than you decide, allow the paying customers to decide?

It's a shame such a great produce is lacking such a basic feature.
