Something other than Google Maps!

Featured Lock Resolved Task
Please consider giving us a different map option beside Google Maps. I for one will not succumb to Googles greed and no longer use Google maps for anything. Perhaps something like Open Street Map but at the very least give us the option to disable the nag alert when logging into PageBuilder demanding we enter a Google map API. Its unnecessary and very annoying and given there is little to no documentation in your support guide helping in how to navigate the bloated Google map API mess it makes no sense demanding we install the API!

Hi Keven,
but we have OpenStreets map addon for over 2 months by now, since Aug 2018.
Just choose it from the addon list.

Thanks Paul, is there a way to get rid of the nag screen short of going and getting a Google API?

yes, just put any number in Google Map API
1234567
or
111222
and save

Thanks Paul, did not even think to do that. I assumed it did some sort of verify but this is good to know...:)

I'm not seeing OpenStreet maps as an add-on option. Where is this found?

Look for an addon called UI Map, thats the one and it also has the same icon as the Google maps so you should be able to identify it quickly by that.

OpenStreet maps addon is available in SPPB since v3.3.x

The confusion Paul is it is not called OpenStreet map or anything that represents that name. Instead it is called UI Map which is not immediately recognizable and only when you hover over the addon does it say that it is in fact OpenStreet map. Not a game changer but does force the user to look deeper to discover what "it" is...

Those are not from us. Even icon description is different.
Probably those addons you have from template.

It appears the SP PB package I installed didn't have the latest version. After I upgraded, the Open Street option appeared and is now working for me. Thank you to everyone!

My bad, you are right. I did not know my partner had purchased the WarpTheme addons. Sorry for the confusion wibadd!

Its very good that Joomshaper support OpenStreetMap and also would nice cool to have some styles and similar map box layers options https://www.mapbox.com/studio-manual/reference/styles/ :p

I second the styles addition presented by ssnobben. This would really kick it up a notch!
