source code editor remove some html tags allowed

using the editor buttons from the editor there is no problem to add UL, LI but using the source code editor a lot tags are removed!!
The settings from TinyMCE from Joomla are not considered.
that's a big issue as i need to make update on a live site!
Please help.

ok i found the problem is that you create your own instance of TinyMCE Editor in admin/assets/js/helper.js and you did not put any value to the "valid_elements" option.
i did fix it myself and it works fine now.
can you perhaps read the tinymce plugins settings from joomla. at least other components do that and it make sense...
at least please considere this bug for your next update.

Trying to add this line to the description field of a Carousel element.
<i class="fa fa-chevron-circle-down" aria-hidden="true"></i> in the source mode
but when existing the source mode the line is removed.

I added the line in the /administrator/components/com_sppagebuilder/assets/ja/helper.js under the invalid_elements
valid_elements : "i[*]",

as per Robin comment. But it had no effect yet it was ok when I added i[*] to the TinyMCE plugin valid Elements
