SP Page Builder Pro 3.4.11: SPPB Module content is deleted when an existing module is edited in backend

Featured Lock Resolved Bug
Hi,
i installed new version 3.4.11 and edited an existing Joomla Module of type mod_sppagebuilder with the new backend editor.
When i saved the module, the text column in database table xxx_sppagebuilder is emptied. So the content of the module is gone!
The backend editor the hangs and save and exit is not possible anymore.
Data loss.

Can you reproduce this?
Or is it only on my side?

Joomla version is 3.9.6
Thanks in advance for your answer.

Regards
Marco.

This is bug in SP page builder, I can confirm. Can provide detailed explanation if developers interested but I think its easy fix for them.

I reverted to 3.4.8 which was prior to editing going to the backend. Staying put until it's resolved.

I can confirm that the issue with a module isn't solved with a 3.4.11 version. I am going back to 3.4.8 as well :(

Hi Guys,

We can't reproduce the issue. Can anyone please give us a test site.

Another question, do you guys using your own edited Helix Template or default(not edited) one.

Thanks,
Mamun

Hi Mamun - Thanks for the reply.
Are you able give it another check using the Restora template just in case it is a template specific issue?
If not, I can PM some access details, but it is a live website.
Cheers, Mike

Hi mjandrew,

Please send me login details via PM. For live site I will use Akeeba Backup to download your site and will install it locally to test.

Hi,
is it possible that this happens when you edit a modules content in backend, but you do not have installed the Joomla article integration?
I just saw that on the web site hading this problem the articel integration was not installed.

Marco.

Hi All Guys,
We have found the issue. But the issue is very small & silly. We all have ignored one evil which is browser cache or website cache.
Can all guys please give simple test and confirm is the issue is persist or not.

Test process:

First use previous version of Page Builder like 3.4.8 then create a module then update to 3.4.11. After update clear website cache and hard refresh browser then go to module page and click edit there also hard refresh the browser then play with module and save, close or whatever you want.

Please let know after the test.

Thanks,
Mamun

Hi Mamun,

ehmm sorry, but i am the initiator of this issue here...

My question was: is it possible that SPPB deletes the content column in the sppagebuilder table for modules with sppb content, because the java article integration is not installed?
This was only a hint, because you were not able to reproduce the issue.

Regards
Marco.
Hi Mamun - I have to say I'm a little embarrassed to admit that a combination of a fresh install of SPPB 3.4.11 together with clearing my browser cache does appear to have resolved this issue.
I really thought I'd tried clearing my browser cache before I submitted a support request.
Apologies for the hassle and as always I appreciate your prompt support.
I'm happy it's working as it should now.
Thank you, Mike

Yes, clearing the cache solves the problem with those modules that have not yet been edited in the new version. But those that were broken cannot be restored. Who would have thought that this is a cache :o

Hi Pavel,

Yes, Broken one will not work or can't be restored. Because we or you saved that in broken situation. Please leave that and work with new one.

Thanks,
Mamun

You have serious bug with article integration and SPPagebuilder module. Really serious. Its what Marco was talking about.
Check attachment and think what happens if article and module have same id (view_id)...

Hi @Ivan,
We checked there is function "checkPage" which is checking three thing at time three thing can't be same. So, we think there is no problem.

if(self::checkPage($attribs['option'], $attribs['view'], $attribs['id'])) {
.......
}

We can be wrong, If you have any working demo please let us know for further investigation.

Thanks,
Mamun
