SP Pagebuilder Fancy Image Link and another question

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
I have a site that uses the Glamour template and use the SP PageBuilder Fancy Image Link.

I would like to get the same look and effect on the Newskit template.

After looking through this support forum I found instructions so I have copied the fancy_image_link folder from addons in shaper_glamour and added it to the shaper_newskit addon folder.

It now appears as COM_SPPAGEBUILDER_ADDON_FANCY_IMAGE_LINK in the addons but the effect are different to Glamour

My client really does like this effect (so do i) so how do i get the fancy link image to work as it appears in Shaper_Glamour.

My second question is similar

How did you achieve the effect on this page

https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates

as i could also use this on my sites and think that others would also use it

Many thanks

So as is normal there is nothing from support, even though a later posted issue has been looked to.
It seems that we have to try and try again to fix things ourselves due to NO SUPPORT at all

In this case I installed a conplete new site using shaper_glamour simply to be able to use the fancy image link.

It was all going OK but the site i was working on with shaper_newskit had articles using SP Pagebuilder (Latest version)

However shaper_glamour does not have the button to use sp pagebuilder in the article.

I have been trying to get this site to work for days and have lost all faith in Joomshaper.

The support is poor, and always takes forever and even then you never get a fix,
Updates work, then dont and there is almost no consistency in templates

Could I PLEASE ASK that you give me some support or a refund.

I have had to change the site back to a normal Joomla site without SP Pagebuilder and a joomshaper template as i just cannot wait any longer.

However I still need an answer to these issues

Hello Colin, the "Fancy Image Link" is a special Addon shipped with Glamour template. It seems to be a "modification" of the "Clients AddOn". It is not found in other templates, nor in PageBuilder default install. BTW, the same applies to some NewsKit Addons!

If you want to move an extra PageBuilder AddOn to another template, you have to copy it manually:

  • Go to /YOURtemplate/sppagebuilder/addons...
  • copy folder /fancy_image_link to your NEW template of choice. Same location!

Basic functionality should work immediately, but you have to care about CSS styles and language files, too:

  • inspect Glamour page in browser dev tools! You should find the crucial "overlay fx" related styles.
  • go to Glamour template.css file and copy all related CSS rules.
  • Insert those styles into your new template's custom.css file! Or inside template style settings -> tab custom code -> custom CSS.
  • Alternative: If you use the Addon on 1 specific page only, you might insert them into the PageBuilder's page options -> CSS

  • language CONSTANTS are found in the Glamour template language file:
  • en-GB.tpl_shaper_glamour.ini
  • to be save on updates, I would recommend to copy them into your language overrides.
  • Either create them in J! core feature in backend... (create for both locations, site and admin)
  • Or copy them directly into:
  • /NEWtemplate/language/overrides/en-GB.override.ini
    /NEWtemplate/administrator/language/overrides/en-GB.override.ini

Hope this helps ;)

At last, thanks you

Just for the record is there a list of standard (Always present) SP Pagebuilder addons as my clients simply will not pay for this extra work

Thanks

Just for the record is there a list of standard (Always present) SP Pagebuilder add ons...

The product and demo page lists them. I believe 4 addons have been added over time. You can simply open -> components -> com_sppagebuilder -> addons folder. It lists 49 items. Free version has less!
... as my clients simply will not pay for this extra work

Nobody pays me either. I did the "work" for you, for free! ;)

Oh, Sorry I didnt realise that Joomshaper does not pay staff.

I have just sat and tried to view all the 44 addons on the website to see if anything has a mouseover effect.

(https://www.joomshaper.com/page-builder near the bottom)

just to see if i can find one and what they all do and several of the links do not work or go to the wrong page.

Several of the addons on their own page have faults

No great, me thinks

Probably they do – but I am just a customer and user like you are!
Why do you think I belong to the staff?

Funnily, I did not even realize that the icon grid has links to the demo site. I agree with you, if there are any issues @Joomshaper should update and fix the demo links as soon as possible. Bad user experience and marketing effect.

I thought you was staff as you seem to be the only one answering anything, Joomshaper support is either good or hopeless, there does not seem to be an in between. We get very little for our money.

As i see it, Joomshaper are great at showing you what their all singing and dancing SP Pagebuilder can do with "No coding involved" yet almost everything needs coding in css to fix it and to most people css is above them.

I think its rather stupid having items that only work in one template without loads of custom css, the css should be part of the addon and a choose your style option. If joomshaper did that they would get many more users.
