SPPageBuilder Media Manager Auto Creates a Year Folder

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hello!

In SPPageBuilder, I've been noticing that it auto creates a year folder, what's that all about? Also noticed that it will happen if I am uploading image without selecting a folder while on Images window.

If I may suggest, you're making it more easier for end users to upload an image file but you're not doing them a favor when it's time to look for files/images. You just created a new layer of mess but auto creating folders which a user didn't even know.

My suggestion is to force the end user to select a folder where they want to upload the image instead of auto creating it by year.

Thanks,

Jackson

Hi,
sorry, but it was designed like that, this same behavior, by default, you have in WordPress too.

I have no idea why developers have chosen this method. And it's hard to say when (or if) would be changed.

Hi Paul,

:D I knew you would say that... well, I just want you guys to know that it does not help! Maybe redesign the media manager to include filter by Year would be more of a help than auto creating a year folder.

As to "you have in Wordpress too" :D sorry I can't help it, I remember one of the Joomla core developers in Github told someone that this is Joomla not Wordpress! :p

Thanks,

Jackson

Yes, Filter maybe useful.
Let's wait for what the future will bring. I added to wish-list.

From my side that's all, I can do.

Please add another vote to request this to change. I HATE that WP does this and override it on my WP sites, and it's awful that the developers have forced this behavior on Joomla too. I already have an excellent folder setup for image uploads in the default /images folder by using JCE, and it would be nice if the builder would respect that.
