Stop video within Accordion after toggle

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi,

i'm using the module SP Accordion to load several articles. These articles can contain a vimeo video. When opening an article and clicking the video it will play as expected.

When closing the article the video continues playing.
When opening another article, and thus closing the active article with the playing video, the video continues playing.

So my question: how can i prevent this ? The video must stop playing when the article is closed/hidden.
I already have added "autopause" to prevent multiple videos playing simultaneously.

Any ideas are welcome.

Kind regards,
Mark

Hi,
The video must be stopped before close (mouse action), instead... sorry but vimeo use it's own code & logic.
I am not sure if we can force stop video somehow.

I don't think so. Each company have similar solutions.
They work beyond accordion. Like noisy guest in your house.

I see no reason why you can't use.
Just visiting your site guest have to remember to stop the video if they don't want to hear music all the time
It's not a module problem, but how they interact with other objects.
But maybe you can find a freelancer who can handle this task

Hi Paul,

i can't agree totally with you. As you know : visitors are lazy. very lazy. They want information and just use a website and not have to think about these kind of stuf.

I understand you can't take all these things in account, but as you know videos are becoming more and more important i guess it would be wise to look in to this.

For now this is a free module but with some modifying you could easily sell this one. But that's my opinion.

I will look further in it and hopefully find a solution.

Kind regards,
Mark

@bepos, Hi I'm facing the same challenge though with different tabs (iso different accordion items) containing a video. Goal is that a (youtube) video is stopped when the visitor switches tab.
Did you find a solution in the mean time?
Or even better, did Joomshaper embedded this into the video player addon?

Peter

Hi Peter,

unfortunately there is no real sollution.

to prevent playing 2 video's the same time i added the attribute autopause="true" in the iframe code. But that's for vimeo video's. I'm not sure if this will work for Youtube video's too. Hope this will help you a bit.

Maybe someday a real solution will be available

Regards,
Mark
Hi Mark, thanks for your quick response and tip. I'll see what I can do with that.
