updating SP Page Builder via Joomla's update not working

Featured Lock Resolved Bug
I've tried a few times now to update SP Page Builder via Joomla's update but have been able to do so. The warning and error is this:
- Error connecting to the server: 403
- Failed to download package.

The license key is in place with the email address.

Screenshots attached.

In the past I have done this manually as a work around but I would like to use the Joomla update system.

Please advise.

Hi,
Thanks for your query. Actually the default update process fetch the pack from a server and serve you the file. And 403 error refers to access forbidden from server. So, somehow your htaccess or server isn't allowing the url to fetch the file from a remote server. May be for some security purpose.
So, in this case you need to download the file manually from the served url http://prntscr.com/og42xy and install it manually.
Hope you get my point.

OK, got it, understood. I will look for a solution at the server level.

I checked the htaccess but nothing there as it is the same as the original installation.

I did talk with my host tech support and they checked the local and global apache error logs as well as the dom logs. The logs do not show any errors.

They are wondering if it's my server blocking your server. Especially since all other extension update as expected. Could you tell me the the IP address from which the file request is going to please? I can whitelist it and see if that resolves the issue.

Hi,
I don't find any update regarding pagebuilder there http://prntscr.com/oivjxm
Did you updated it manually?
I am not forsure if this will work for your case, but I was having the same issue, both with attempting to update from the Joomla backend and using the MyJoomla service. I recopied and pasted my license key into Page Builder and was then able to update to the most recent build with no issues. I had this happen on four different sites and this worked on all four of them. In total I have 20 sites running Page Builder and those were the only ones that gave me any issues.

Yes, I had already done it manually. I'll check in with you again when there's another update.

Thanks for your input Michael. I had tried that a number of times before but it didn't work in my case.

Hi,

I've just checked your site and it's updated nicely. Please check this screencast https://we.tl/t-36ur0XcWnE

Note: You can reuse the email and license key if you face any further issue.

-Best Regards
