Various issues since install, help sought?

Featured Lock Resolved Issue
Hi There,

I've made the move away from my previous template provider Rockettheme, utilising a Gantry5 based template and everything has gone smoothly on the whole, in the change over... I do still have Gantry5 themed pages / content / modules to switch to SPPB3 for example but this will happen in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, I am wondering how I resolve the following issues on my site www. isknow. how ;

Header Menu(s) - I am currently using the provided default Helix header menu(s) and I am wondering how I can get my 'Login / Register' URL links, to show in the very top non sticky part of this header menu bar? See attachment 'header-menu.JPG'.

Mobile Menu - I am a bit confused as to how to implement the mobile menu. I've selected both main menu and offcanvas in the 'Navigation > Menu Type' in the Helix Ultimate Template > Style section. I have tried looking on this forum and via google but cannot find anything specific, or there being nothing whatsoever that I can find in the Helix Ultimate documentation, to help regarding 'offcanvas'?

I have seen some mention of a menu module (Helix II) but I do not see any offcanvas menu module in my site since installing and configuring Helix Ultimate.

Newsletter Module - I have created 2 more footer areas in the Helix Ultimate layout manager, and also added the same positions in '/templates/shaper_helixultimate/templateDetails.xml' thus footer3 is for my ACYMailing Module but even when it is enabled, all caches cleared both on server, browser and site - it still doesn't show in the footer3 position? See attachment 'footer3.JPG'

Legal Info - In footer2 position that I've added, I can't seem to find why this positions text is aligning from the right and not the left, as with footer1 that aligns correctly from the left? See attachment 'footer2.JPG'.

Renaming Template - Is this actually needing to be done? It doesn't say but whenever there is a Helix Ultimate version update, will this affect one's website / template IF I don't rename the template? Just trying to get a grasp on whether it's actually needed or not.

I look forward to your appreciated feedback / guidance on the above matters in due course.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Header Menu(s) - publish those links in "top1" module position

Mobile Menu - just publish Menu module on "offcanvas" position to get hamburger menu content

Newsletter Module - we have so many ready module positions, that you do not have to edit xml file
better is those use those which you have already

Legal Info- maybe because most users add in those positions copyright note, footer links - not menus as you did. For those, I suggest to use bottom1.2.3.4 or correct using custom css.

Renaming Template - in Helix Ultimate Manual we have whole tip how to do this, but I do not recommend. Template update each time via ftp is painful.

Hi,

Thanks, did that and works like a charm.

Still found this bit in the documentation very lacking in guidance and easy to be confused for new beginners with Helix Ultimate.

You do, you have for e.g. footer1 and I think footer 2 in the actual templates 'layout' panel but footer3 wasn't pre-defined from install / setup, I needed my newsletter module in footer3 position and hence I decided to add footer3 into the template details xml file, so I could make use of this position,

Legal Info- maybe because most users add in those positions copyright note, footer links - not menus as you did. For those, I suggest to use bottom1.2.3.4 or correct using custom css.

It's not a menu per se, it's simply a custom module with the list items and linkable but since I moved legal info to below contact info, in footer1 this has aligned this modules content to the left correctly. Now I have another module enabled and in footer2, this is not letting me left align / float the title left, it's constantly forcing it to the right and no amount of css that I'm trying to use is putting it back to the left. :/

Renaming Template - in Helix Ultimate Manual we have whole tip how to do this, but I do not recommend. Template update each time via ftp is painful.

I shall leave this well alone then, I did read it in the HU manual but it doesn't really define if it should or shouldn't be done and the reasons why, which is why I thought that I would ask before doing anything. :)

About rename template - it's similar for all joomla templates, from all developers.
it's like with car tuning, you can loose warranty.

All small design issues can be corrected with custom css.
