Warning about the URL below the comment box

Featured Lock Resolved
Hi,

I don't know what I'm doing wrong to get a Wargning below the comment box. Please have a look:

http://www.internet-content.net/en/blog/item/294-how-to-make-website-images-seo-optimized?

Comment is saying:
Warning: http://www.internet-content.netindex.php/?option=com_k2&view=item&id=294&Itemid=413 is unreachable.

Seems to me like a / is missing. How/where do I define the address to use the / after the main-URL?'

Do you have some configuration instructions available?

Greetings,
Anne

Hi,

did you have a look at the site? Any ideas why the URL is showing error? I can see that the / sign is missing from the URL between the www-address and the index.... With the / sign the URL shows this page:
http://www.internet-content.net/index.php/?option=com_k2&view=item&id=298

That is the page without modules on the side. Which is fine as long as I can get the URL address right.. Please help! Thanks!

Greetings, Anne

What do you mean? How? I do not see anywhere in the plugin where I can add/change the link. The site has SEF URL's in use. I do not see anywhere in where I can control the URL that the plugin is using or even why this error text comes below the Comment box.

Where does the plugin take this URL?

do you have a tutorial/instructions how to set this plugin up and if this plugin requires something on Facebook pages?

You set wrong application id.

You set wrong application id for facebook. The id should be a long numeric value.Visit https://developers.facebook.com/apps for more information.

Thanks I got if finally! Would be useful if you would make a "how-to" instructions step by step. I find the Facebook developers pages a bit confusing since I haven't used them earlier. If you make the how-to instructions with pictures how to set up the application in facebook developers site then you get less questions on your forum. Thanks!

Hi, I've got a similar problem:
http://www.amiche.altervista.org/home/home/il-resto/moda/item/141-una-sera-da-regina-la-vfno-a-milano.html is unreachable.

I understand that home/home/ can't be correct, of course. But SEF URL is on and the API looks ok:

application ID
281926508xxxxx

site URL
http://www.amiche.altervista.org/ (with http://)

site domain
amiche.altervista.org

canvas address
http://www.amiche.altervista.org/

The plugin is working with K2 integration except for that warning and I lke it so much!
Thanx for help.

I would like to keep SP Comments in my site, it's perfect but that warning... :dry:
Could I comment the lines about it? Maybe it would be better if users couldn't see it.

I'm also looking for a solution to this problem :( LOVE(!) the plugin (thank you for that), but it would be great if it didn't display the warning and didn't make all the text (bold) like it does now ;)

Also... beeing able to decide WHERE the comments are shown feels like something VERY important (missing that. Can't even figure out where that is decide in the code (trying to move it "manually";)).

*EDIT!
I've also noticed that when I have the social buttons (twitter, g+ and facebook) active on the item page, the facebook like button disappears. PLEASE! look in to fixing these issues as we can't use the plugin if the text gets distorted (forced bold) and the commets box displays warnings (even though everything is setup correctly) and disrupts other elements (the facebook like button at the bottom of the article). Together with the fact that we can't position the comment box.

These are my versions

Joomla! 2.5.7 Stable [ Ember ] 13-September-2012 14:00 GMT

K2 v2.5.7

SP Comments downloaded from http://www.joomshaper.com/joomla/free-extensions/sp-comments on september 15 2012 (don't know what version, but I'm assuming it is the latest).

PHP 5.3.15

Seeing as no one seems to be interested in helping or answering the issues of the current version of the module I decided to take matters into my own hands.

I'm not a programmer, so I can't rewrite or correct the errors as they are of the SP Comments plugin. However, for anybody else wanting to use facebook comments on their K2 articles, here is how I solved it for my needs.

Go to
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/comments/
and get your code.

Place the first part in the head tag of your index.php file (inside your template folder)

Change the second part to this
<div class="fb-comments" data-href="{source}<?php echo JURI::current(); ?>{/source}" data-num-posts="2" data-width="580"></div>
The width and number of posts is up to you ;)

*NOTE* For this to work you will need to install the following plugin (don't worry, it's free)
http://www.nonumber.nl/extensions/sourcerer

Place the second part of the code in the box "'Social button' code". You will find this under K2->paramaters->Social

Now. If you want to place the comment box somewhere else (and not in the header (!) ) simply find the item.php in root_folder/components/com_k2/templates/default
search (or look for)
<?php echo $this->item->params->get('socialButtonCode'); ?>
(it was on line 83 in mine)
and move this to where you want the comments to show.

As for the counter (number of comments)
Place this line of code where you want to display the number of comments associated with the article
<fb:comments-count href="<?php echo JURI::current(); ?>"></fb:comments-count> comments

*NOTE* If someone knows how to wright conditions for this I would deeply appreciate it. I would like it to say
Be the first to comment (if the comments are 0)
comment (if there is only 1 comment)
comments (if there are more then 1 comment)

Moving on. To show the comments on the blog layout (or category view as it its real name is)
Open category_item.php (also under components/com_k2/templates/default) and insert the following (where you want to place your comment counter)

<a href="<?php echo $this->item->link; ?>#comments">(<fb:comments-count href="http://www.[YOUR WEBSITE]<?php echo $this->item->link; ?>"></fb:comments-count> Comments)</a>

A couple of things to take note of here. The "#comments" links to an anchor I put above my comments on the article page (item view). [YOUR WEBSITE] should NOT end with / (slash symbol). I don't know how to define the base root of a site with php (maybe someone more proficient in PHP and Joomla can help out here).

Alright. Those where my two cents on this. Hope this helps others who are looking for a solution on all the problems and errors with the SP Comments.

Dear axelra82 many, many thanx! I tried your suggestion and it worked like a charm! Yeah!

Ops, just one problem: if a user comments (I tried once) an article and he choose to publish it on his FB profile as well, the link in FB wall doesn't work because I see it as removed. My site: http://www.amiche.altervista.org
Thank you.

Ops again, now it's works, don't know why :laugh:

Is there a way to get automatically flagged "publish on facebook"?

NOTE!
I noticed that the comments counter wasn't working after implementing the below solution. This is driving me crazy! If the stupid "URL Warning" shows, the counter works. If I get rid of the warning, the counter doesn't work. Anyone! Is there an update for the SPComments comming? Something that works (and doesn't break the K2 blog entries)?

So, after trying out ALOT of solutions to removing the annoying URL warning (which still showed) I found a thread on google talking about the URL rewriting in joomla. So this is a fix that (so far) seems to solve this all together

In my previous "tutorial" on how to fix the problem I mentioned this lite snippet
<div class="fb-comments" data-href="{source}<?php echo JURI::current(); ?>{/source}" data-num-posts="2" data-width="580"></div>

Just change this to
<div class="fb-comments" data-href="index.php?{source}<?php echo JURI::current(); ?>{/source}" data-num-posts="2" data-width="580"></div>

Adding the "index.php?" did the trick for me anyway (as far as I can tell anyway).

In regards to automatically check the "post to facebook", no idea, but I'm sure google holds the answer to that one. Unless there is someone here willing to surprise us? :)

Thank you! I'll give a try, but your previous solution is still working for me (most of time, twice I noticed the warning but then it disappeared).

In regards to automatically check the "post to facebook", no idea, but I'm sure google holds the answer to that one. Unless there is someone here willing to surprise us?

Yep, why not? ;)
