Hi,
I know "menu" position from templateDetails.xml, but "menu-position" , hmm.
Can you explain more what you really want.

All new templates are based on Helix3 - so basic settings you will find in Helix3 manual.

It's not a question of what I want, it's a question of understanding this template. I have the quickstart of the Spectrum template on one of my development subdomains and I'm comparing it to my current live website. And I'm finding a couple of things I don't understand. The module position "menu-position" is one of them.

There are 2 different modules in the quickstart version of this template that are assigned to a module position called "menu-position". I don't find a module position by that name when I look at layout nor do I find that module position when I look at the template html document. So, I'm confused. Where did the position "menu-position" come from if there is no position by that name?

The modules that are assigned to that module position are:

Article Categories (this is not the other 2 modules that are both named Categories)
Latest Post

It appears these 2 modules are used in the mega menu for the blog category in addition to the regular submenu items. I think I see what the end result is, but I still don't understand where the module position came from called "menu-position" when there doesn't appear to be a module position by that name in the template.

Yes this position is not used in typical layout. I will check in my demo, a moment please.

About Categories and articles - relax, just do it as you always did ... used names in demo are only example, not always perfect.

Yes, I am aware of what those look like. I saw those before, which is why I mentioned this exact menu in my original message.

What I am asking is where is this documented? What if we want to do the same on our website? How do we know how to do this when there is no documentation on it? Of what if we want to change something? Again, how will we know if there isn't any documentation that explains it or how it works?

Again, I already told you about his menu, so showing me the picture doesn't help.

Thanks for the info, but I know how to add modules to the mega menu. What I'm asking for is the documentation on the modules with a menu position of menu-position.

Ok, thank you. However, I see they mention using the special module position named "menu-position", but where does it specifically tell a person how to set up these "special" module positions? The "menu-position" module position does not appear as a module position anywhere on the site, and it does not exist in the template html document. So how exactly did you create this module position without it appearing anywhere on the site or in the html document for the template?

Just choose from list, if you don't have it .. just type it and joomla will create a new one.

BTW
"menu" position should work in this same way, check, am going sleep.
