Bruce Lee Rules for Modern Web Design

Work, as a web designer (Joomal & Wordpress), is really focused on helping our clients prepare project that they can imagine but not fully predict how it should look like. That's why many people search for a nice template(s) for their CMS. For them CMS it's only technical structure (skeleton), they need "skin". A graphic layer which makes their project unique but still easy to customize.

It is a way of finding creative solutions, the role of the web designer it to understand the client's vision and business goals for the project and interpret (transform) them into the final online product (website). Good template with even better framework under can help meet  (as much as possible) the expectations of all sides.

Right now there are over 600+ templates available which can be installed and used for Joomla 3.x. This huge number proves that you really have to choose from. Also our JoomShaper team offers many Joomla templates / Wordpress themes which can be used in your project(s). But probably many times you asked your self: "ok, but which one I should use for ABC site". And here is good place for a first Bruce Lee principle may help you: "Adapt what is useful, reject what is useless, and add what is specifically your own.".

Absorb what is useful. It's not about blindly adopting all ready patterns or photo concepts, it's about taking the best and tailoring it. It's also means that you have to choose this template (or even whole QuickStart) which is offers many possibilities. Not all have strong Template Framework as our Helix. Removing modules from Demo QuickStart is always easy part, but for example: adding a new module positions in Gavern or others Framework request php/css knowledge. Customization features build-in template allows you reduce time, in particular, if the customer often (at an early stage) asks about moving positions. Which module position must be shown on desktop view only, using Helix you can set in less than 5 seconds. Modules in Joomla are like Logo Bricks, the strength of each templates lies in the modules. If you'll choose them right you will be able to show any content you want in nice appearance.

The rule number two: “If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you’ll never get it done. ”.

The main difficulty of choosing modules is that there are too many of them on JED. Searching, reading descriptions, checking demo pages and testing modules takes ages, too many precious time, but now you have another option SP Page Builder. And you will get all tools in one, in most cases it will fit your needs. Also it's easy for your client (website owner).  For example almost whole HomePage of Glamour template we created using this advanced extension.

Third rule: "Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind."

What this rule  means? Stay flexible and open-minded. You should look deeper, beyond first layer of demo content. If we or any one else used Fashion photos on demo it doesn't mean that you cannot use this template for culinary or to show local art products.  Stay open to new possibilities, and the viewpoints of others. You can never know what you will learn when you explore things you at first thought were pure nonsense. Just make things happen.

There are some examples what JoomShaper customers created using our templates or only Helix framework:

1natana

2banana-dive3hi

4-prestige5-zen

8-intarcon

And the last quote for today:

"Always be yourself, express yourself, have faith in yourself, do not go out and look for a successful personality and duplicate it."

I believe that you were born with unique talents, gifts, and skills. Living a successful web design life is all about experimenting and trying new things.
