Joomla 3.6 - some news about it

Joomla 3.5 is almost ready, and yes we want inform you about what we can expect in the upcoming Joomla 3.6 (in new year). We have those informations from Joomla! World Conference (JWC) 2015 which took place from 6 to 8 November 2015.

Those are next big steps (innovations) in Joomla 3.6:

  • A New Media Manager - Drag and Drop uploader
  • Improved image editing with options to crop, resize, rotate, filter, thumbnails and more
  • Custom fields for Articles and User Manager
  • The integration of web services via a REST API.

What is interesting if most of those features would be available, you can say "Goodbye!" for K2 extension.   I guess there would be more changes in new version of Joomla! CMS but those should be for sure. When? Probably in June/July 2016 we should see a stable version.

Update info!

Since today (16-06-2016) you can download :Joomla 3.6.0 Beta 2 - for test purposes.

I would prefer to see Joomla 3.5 released and stable before people guess what will be in Joomla 3.6 :-)

Thanks for the news about K2, even if it's just to say that we will be able do without it

Do not use K2 anymore, my honest advice.
