Request for Assistance with Email Transmission Issue

Hello Joomshaper Team,

I kindly ask for your help regarding an issue with email transmission. Here is the situation:

At the hosting provider IONOS, I have created an email address named [email protected]. This email works flawlessly—the mailbox receives and sends emails without any issues.

On the website www.hundefairhaltenstherapie.de, I have configured the server settings to use PHP Mail to send emails via this mailbox. However, the connection does not work, and I always receive an error message. As a result, the contact form on the website is also not functioning.

I have configured these settings for many websites before (including on IONOS) and have never encountered this issue before.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

Since PHP Mail can sometimes be blocked by hosting providers (including IONOS) due to security restrictions, we recommend switching to SMTP for sending emails. SMTP is more reliable and ensures better email deliverability.

You can configure SMTP using the following details:

• SMTP Host: smtp.ionos.de/ or check on your hosting email settings.

• SMTP Port: 587 (or 465 for SSL)

• Encryption: TLS or SSL

• Username: Your full email address ([email protected])

• Password: Your email password

You can set this up under:

System > Global Configuration > Server > Mail Settings

This should resolve the issue. Let us know if you need further assistance!
