ModSecurity issues after SP Page Builder update

Hello,
after updating SP Page Builder I’m seeing repeated ModSecurity triggers on my Apache server when saving pages.

The rules involved are 210710 and 214930, often caused by editor requests using text/plain or non‑standard payloads. In some cases the save action fails.

Is there a way to adjust SP Page Builder’s editing behavior (e.g., force a more standard content‑type or reduce these sensitive requests) to avoid conflicts with common WAF configurations?

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. SP Page Builder uses AJAX/JSON/plain-text style requests for editing and saving. These payloads are valid for the extension and are expected behavior. The problem is ModSecurity, not SP Page Builder's internal rules.

You can try this rules.

  • Change ModSecurity mode from "Full" to "Medium/Low"
  • Disable only the aggressive ruleset (Example: CRS)
  • Disable ModSecurity Temporarily (To confirm ModSecurity is the cause, temporarily disable it site-wide for 2–5 minutes and try saving again. If it saves normally = confirmed WAF conflict)
