Tuber Blog & Courses

Asked by Justin Dawson 1 month ago Last activity 1 week ago

Hi,

This may be a question for SP Page Builder or it could be the actual Tuber template.

Im still learning - so forgive me in advance!

Two areas:

  1. I'm using the "blog" area for latest news on my site and I see this is made from a category article and blog design (I guess Joomla default) . Though after I use the 6 template design pages of the blog I tried to batch copy one of the pages so simply other members of my team could use the area to change the text and update the 1 image I would use per news article. When I batch create or duplicate the page, it looses the formatting. So I appreciate any tips of creating more news pages similar?
  2. Making courses in the dynamic content area, is there any good guides on how to update these areas or where to add the videos to each of the areas for example "Scale beyond 6 figure growth" I would love to change to 1 course Im creating, but several different modules or videos.

Hopefully I've explained myself ok with these questions, Im happy to take this disccussion private with access to my page.

Hello,

Here is your Article Index page: https://prnt.sc/42TqgLOtclIS, and here is the Article Details page: https://prnt.sc/X9hv9L19Tnng.

You can use these two pages to control and customize the layout according to your requirements.

Please note that there is no Dynamic Content Items field in the collection specifically for articles. The articles currently displayed on your site are managed through Joomla's native Articles system: https://prnt.sc/n8b0hdbrQVTy.

Since you are already managing your content using Joomla's native Articles, there is no need to create a separate collection for the articles. You can continue managing the article content directly through Joomla Articles.

You can then use the Article Index and Article Details pages to design and customize the frontend layout based on how you want your news section to look.

If you need a completely separate content structure with custom fields specifically for news, you can also create a custom collection for that purpose.

I hope this clarifies how the current content is being managed and how you can customize the layout.

Best regards,

Hi Justin,

Thanks for explaining. For the Latest News section, you don't need to duplicate the SP Page Builder page for every article.

The recommended approach is to create the article index and article detail layouts in SP Page Builder and then use Joomla's native articles for your news content. This allows your team to create new articles while keeping the same design/layout.

Please follow the documentation here:

Joomla Native Articles Integration – SP Page Builder

In particular, check the sections for Create an Article Index Page and Create an Article Detail Page. The documentation specifically covers both layouts.

For the Courses / Dynamic Content area, please check the SP Page Builder Dynamic Content documentation:

Dynamic Content – SP Page Builder

This covers Collections, Collection Fields, Collection Items, Collection Index, Collection Details, and References, which are the areas you will need to understand in order to replace the demo course with your own course structure and content.

Once you understand how the collection and detail structure is set up, you can use it to organize your course, modules/lessons, and associated content rather than creating a separate SP Page Builder page for every item.

If you are still having trouble after following the documentation, you can provide access to the site and we can take a look at how the Tuber demo has been configured.

Thanks.

Hi Ziaul,

Many thanks for your prompt reply. I'll work on the news section first and get this correct and as for the course and dynamic layout, I need to finish compiling the course videos.

If I come into any further difficulties or questions, I'll come back to you! A bit of trial and error

Justin
