I downloaded the PiTech template and installed it onto my server, I then upgraded to Joomla 5.

The front end loads fine, but when I go to the backend I am getting a 500 error

Any ideas please

Hello Nigel Hancock

Apology for the inconvenience. Your administrator does not load. It seems to be hosting issue. Please talk to your hosting provider about it.

Best regards

I downloaded your quickstart of Pitech then upgraded to Joomla 4.4, then upgraded to Joomla 5

That is where the problem of not seeing the admin area starts

The hosting company said this:

Your Joomla installation is generating a MySQL error regarding a missing column:

=== mysqli_sql_exception Unknown column 'a.ordering' in 'order clause'

This seems to be a known upgrade issue. You may want to backup your database first and try to implement the fix here:

I tried adding the SQL code but it came up with an error

Please try the same process on your localhost. If you can do it, then upload it to your hosting.
