Hi there,
I have built many Joomla (3, 4 and 5) Multi-lingual websites using a recommended setup by Joomla and this is the first time that it does not work as expected and that I have to do some weird setup...
And all due to the template/Helix being programmed differently then before...
WHY would you change the setup and stray away from the correct/standard Joomla recommended process?!
What it is supposed to be: 2 languages - French and English:
Main Menu (with 1 entry for Home - Default - All Languages)
Home: [EN] - (Home menu & other menu entries for English Home Menu - with 1 Home entry assigned to English)
Accueil: [FR] - (Home menu & other menu entries for French Home Menu - with 1 Home entry assigned to French)
Each of the above [EN] and [FR] menus would have 4-7 links depending on the website.
Obviously the standard Joomla Multi-Lingual Plugins have to be enabled...
With Eleva, to make it show/work on the FrontEnd.
Main Menu (with 1 entry for Home - Default - All Languages)
Top Menu - (with the Home alias in both languages and other menu entries in both languages in this menu)
Home: [EN] - (Home menu for English Home Menu assigned to English)
Accueil: [FR] - (Home menu for French Home Menu assigned to French)
- It's way more complicated
- It makes for more potential mistakes with menu entries not being in their own menus by language
- It's not following Joomla recommended structure for a multi-lingual website
;(
PLEASE fix ASAP.
Thank you,
M.
P.S.: Didn't have this problem with Wimble for example.. among others...
